Howdy from Texas. Name's Mark and I've been a fan of Firefly for some time. I'm halfway to my weightloss goal of 180 and hope to cross the finish line in October.
Just weighed in today and crossed under 200 for the first time in 25 years. Shiny!
Looking forward to catching up with ya'll. Maybe we can share a drink in Jaynestown! See ya 'round the 'verse.

Hi there! My name here is Lillian Idol (but that's my silly madeup goth/steampunk persona name). My real name is Kimberly and most of the internet knows me as Kiba. I'm a not-quite-30 graduate student in library school.

My goal here at Spark is to have an easy way to keep track of and stay friends with folks while working towards health goals. My BMI puts me in the obese category but after reading a lot and living a little, I've realized that I'd do better to measure my health by things like cholesterol levels and blood pressure than by the size of my waistline, because that is resistant to change for a number of reasons. (I strongly recommend reading "Health at Every Size" and "Intuitive Eating" if you're interested in the science behind that.) A couple of years ago all of my levels were excellent - but in the past year I've found that my blood pressure has gone up and my total cholesterol is much higher than it used to be. My Nurse Practitioner isn't worried about me but I want to work to make sure she never needs to get worried.

A quick rundown of my interests: education, librarianship, performing arts (especially theatre), crafts (especially crochet), cooking/baking (especially cupcakes), video games, reading, Joss Whedon ( and are both mine).

"Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is my favorite movie - Ferris sums up my philosophy when he says "Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

Nice to meet you!
