HI Sheryl! Welcome to the boat! Michelar or CDNDiver will be along soon with your official welcome. Congrats on getting certified!
Hope you love diving as much as I do! It's been 18 years and it only gets better!!

I say we move the boat over to your place and find great diving spots together. The only diving I've done in Hawaii was Kailua-Kona, and it was big fun.

I love the brilliantly colored fish. Funny, being a chiefly Caribbean and Florida diver, meeting all the fish there. I knew lots of faces and bodies, but many of the fish acted differently, and they were wearing PARTY CLOTHES! I spent a few days trying to figure out who was who before I went and bought a fish ID book and started learning about them.

Love the music, too! KAPA Radio is bookmarked on my computers and gets fairly frequent airplay in my house and at work.

Again, welcome! We'll see you in the Narced Divers Lounge!
Happy Bubbles!

Hi there! I got my basic NAUI certification last summer on Oahu's North Shore. I live on the west side of the island. DH is in the Navy and we have been here for 3 years. He has been certified for 10 years and the ONLY diving we have gotten since we've been here have been my certification dives because his work with the military has kept him pretty busy (and gone) a lot of the time. I'm thinking of taking a refresher course and then scooping up some good equipment on craigslist so we can try to get out there more.

DH and I are in our mid-30s and each need to lose about 10 lbs. I figure at that point I'd be comfortable spending the $ on a nice wet suit. I enjoyed diving with DH but I am still a bit skitterish about seeing sharks. LOL The ones I encountered were little black tip reef sharks but I know the big boys like to eat sea turtles and there are sea turtles or honu EVERYWHERE here.

I'm looking forward to hearing about great dive spots everyone has visited. I just really can't wait to do it some more!
