Welcome Kim! Sounds like you have had some rough times. I hope with your move you will have a new start in life. It's not easy to take off the pounds as we get older. I will be 57 in September. I joined TOPS over a year ago and that helped me somewhat but after the first 10 lbs came off I have been on a yo yo trip - lose 2, gain 1, stay the same, up 1 down 1 - very discouraging. Part of my problem is that my husband is an excellent cook and it is hard to cut back on my portions. I also blame menopause and arthritis for making weight loss difficult too. Anyway Spark People is here for us to support each other. Sometimes just writing things out to a Spark friend can help us along. So hang in there and good luck with everything. emoticon emoticon

Hi,
My name is Kim, and I will be 50 next month. I have Psoriatic Arthritis, and I haven't been diagnosed with this for very long. The Rheumatologist originally treated me for Lupus, and because I have moved around a lot, I was not able to see my original Rheumatologist until this last year when we moved back to the area. Sadly though, we are moving away from here again and have to train a new Dr. My kids are grown, and my 2 Grandson's are currently living in Hawaii with their Mom and new Step-Dad who is in the Army and just back from Iraq. A year ago, my Husband found an old girlfriend through FB. It supposedly started as friendship, but as he was personally feeling like I wasn't interested in him, it became something more. He says that since they never got together in person that it wasn't an affair. Our opinions differ there. Anyway, as he was always talking about how she was working out and all, it made me feel really bad. Their relationship has finally ended completely, and now I want to make myself look nice for him by our anniversary next June. We will be moving across the state next week, so I could be out of touch for a week while I get the house set up. I need lots of encouragement as he is a type2 diabetic and eats constantly things he is not supposed to eat and loses weight while doing it. Help me lose 50 pounds.
