Hi Ruth,

Welcome to the group. We are small but mighty. I really am glad to have someone else join and give some in site into what has/hasn't worked for you. I hope you have read the bio on some of us, and I'll add you as a friend so we can keep tabs on how each other are doing.

I have a challenge going this month of walking 2000 steps a day. If that is to far for you then let us know how many you can do, so we know how to encourage you. It doesn't have to be all at once, just so you reach your goal for the day. Let us know if you want to join in the challenge.

I live in WA also, in a small town called Concrete. I'm not sure if you have heard of it, but it is about 35 miles East of Mt Vernon. Maybe we can meet for lunch sometime.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Doris

Hi, I'm 55, live in Seattle WA area, married, work full time, have 3 adult children.

I've have osteoarthritis in my knees and lower back. Had extensive back surgery in 2002, and surgery on both knees in 2005.

I find exercise very painful...walking hurts my knees and even swimming puts stress on my lower back. Of course it doesn't help that I need to lose about 100 pounds. I've been working on healthier eating, but the exercise challenge and moving through the pain is not going well.

Look forward to tips, and community here on this board!

My name is Ruth! emoticon
