Hi Karen!

Just wanted to say you're taking a really courageous step by coming out there. I have a lot (~125 lbs) to lose before reaching my goal weight. I can say though that I'm about 60 lbs lighter now than my heaviest weight. All I can say is, you're doing it now! Little steps make a huge difference. Use what parts of the site you can, and don't feel overwhelmed by the scope of it. I think keep a food journal is important, even it's on paper, and you don't exactly know all of your calories. Do exercise if you can, start slow, and forgive yourself if you make little mistakes along the way. The good news, you will feel better about yourself, even after losing just a few pounds.

I take lots of deep breaths, think lots of positive thoughts, and wake myself up to cheerful music in the morning. These are little mental tricks that keep me going.

Find what works for you! That's super important. Don't feel constrained by what works for other people. You are an individual!!!

I wish you the best of luck on your journey!

Hi. I'm really, really nervous about doing this, but I know we're all working toward the same thing - healthier bodies and whatever it takes to get there - so I hope you can help me. I need to lose about 160lbs, but I'm trying to focus on little steps first, like smaller portions and I'm giving myself almost two years to do it so I don't get stressed out. I'm kind of overwhelmed by all this website covers and I don't have regular access to the internet but I'm trying to do what I can. Any suggestions? Please be patient with me because my weight has always been my "protection" in a way that I don't really know how to explain ... but I would really, really like to have more energy and feel better about myself and I think all of you can help me do that. Thanks in advance.
