My SparkPage
Hi. My name is mamateetee and I found out about Sparkpeople because my 15 year old daughter began receiving emails from Sparkteen. I read the emails and found them inspiring and educational, so I decided to buy the book. Wow - it's a great book! Very enjoyable to read and I'm learning a lot about myself through the stories of other members who have struggled with some of the same issues that I have. They have found a way to take charge of their lives and bodies again and now I truly believe that I can too! But I need help getting there! I am living with my two daughters, 11 & 15 and my mom, who lives in an apartment over our garage. Life is busy and my family can be demanding at times, not to mention trying to keep up with household chores, finances, etc. I find that I will skip meals, indulge in the wrong foods, eat too late at night and not exercise. I feel depressed and out of control. I used to be a very organized person, worked out, jogged, socialized and was in pretty good shape - mentally & physically. But after having 2 children by c-section and experiencing marital conflict, I feel like things have really spiraled. The worst part is that I feel like I'm setting a horrible example to my girls. They are becoming disorganized, eating unhealthy and not getting enough exercise. We rarely sit down together at the table for dinner and bedtime is happening way too late at night, creating struggle in the morning, much of the time resulting in no one having any time for breakfast. I want to break this cycle and need some help and support from anyone who has felt this way and overcame it. Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to me.
