Hi. I've been a member since Oct. 17. It's not been very long and I haven't lost much, YET...but I'm hoping that this challenge will really be the boost I need. I love the site and am talking to more people than I ever thought I would. emoticon

Hi, I'm Lisa. I've been on Spark People for 11 months now, and have achieved goals I never thought possible. I'm close to my weight loss goal, but I still want to get stronger and firm up. The part of my exercise program that I struggle with is staying consistent with my strength training. I thought this bootcamp might be just the thing I need! emoticon

Oh! I should say that because of a health condition that requires me to give a pint of blood every two weeks, there will be one Saturday every two weeks that I can't do the bootcamp video. Other than that, though, I'm in!

Happy Sparking Everyone!!

Ok, here goes ... I've been with SP for 3 years now. Most of the time I've been very faithful to the site - logging in, logging food, etc ...

I am 56 years old now and the weight has been like a yo-yo this last year. I'm going the wrong direction. I have exercised 5x a week for an hour a day to 3x a week for 20 minutes a day to no exercise at all. Nothing really seems to make a difference in my weight. I don't think I've changed my eating habits during that time. All I know is that I'm getting very discouraged and feel fat! I've gained 20# of the 45# I had lost when I was at my lowest weight (about 2 years ago - just before I moved).

So, now I'm trying to get back on track. My life is very stressful, but happy for the most part. I'm hoping this challenge will keep me on the right path and give me hope.

So, bring it on 2010! I'm ready - again!

Hi! My name is Tracey. I am a work at home mom with a 13 month active little boy. I had a difficult year! When my son was born, he was diagnosed with Down Syndrome and congenital heart disease. Thank God that his open heart surgery successfully repaired his heart and he is thriving. I decided to exercise, or at least do some exercise instead of allowing depression to take over!

Hi, I'm new to SparkPeople, and I think it's a great website. I'm still learning how to use it effectively, and I'm looking forward to the Bootcamp. I'm retired and live alone and sometimes it's hard to be motivated. I've lost 30 lbs, and I use the BodyBugg. My favorite exercise is walking, and I love to dance. But I really need to do more weight training.

Hi, my name is Latisha I am 19 years old. I am a college student. I hope to lose weight to become healthy again and to help with my lupus because ever since being part of sparkpeople my doctors said I have been doing better. I need to buy more healthy foods and less eating out when I get lazy and then I can reach my goals faster.

Hi I am Heather 35 years old, I have 3 children and 2 step children. They keep me busy. I broke my foot four months ago and have been trying to workout as best as I can. I'll be able to wear a normal sneaker January 15th and while I'll still have to take it easy, I want to be more consistent. I look forward to working with this team! emoticon

Hi I am Julie. Been on Sparkpeople since June 09 and it's the best program I've ever found for not just weight loss but lifestyle change. I'm happy to say I reached my original goal and I'm still losing a little. I have found the key to exercising consistently, for me, is to mix it up so I'm looking forward to this challenge as something different. Thanks for the wonderful FREE site!!!!

Your post "sparked" me. I am new to Spark. Just dabbling for several months, family and business stuff got in the way. But joining the Boot Camp challenge should get me going in the right direction. Especially since I can start planning NOW! We lived in Woodbridge near Ipswich in the 70's with the US Air Force. Both my sons were born at RAF Lakenheath! We absolutely love ENgland and go back evey chance we get. Next time will be to research some family roots. I am a total exercise slug. Carol

Wow do I need this challenge! It seems like a challenge I can actually complete- LOL. (Sad but true.) I have been completely out of control since Thanksgiving week; I still work out but not as frequently as I had prior to that week. I am very excited to start this challenge. Thanks for creating one that I can stick with.

Good Snowy Morning from Virginia. Actually the snow has stopped and we are basically snow bound for a while.

My nickname is C.Rosie and I have been watching my weight for a long time. For the past two years I have yoyoed with ten pounds. I need to lose those ten pounds and then another ten pounds and I am through.

I have surgery on my ears this week and will be ready to start slowly exercising within a week and a half. I will just need to watch out for exercises that initially affect my balance.

My plan is to try to lose ten pounds between now and February 6th when I turn 63. Then work on those final ten pounds until I get them off.

I wish each of you well over the holidays and at the bootcamp.

C. Rosie

Remember to eat healthy, move that body, and drink that water.

Hey Everyone!

My name is Karrilee and I began Jan 08 with three goals... and started to change my life... then, at the end of the month, I discovered SparkPeople and have lost almost 80 pounds since then!- I use it every single day - tracking my food and exercise and checking in with Teams. Spark has made all the difference not only in my losing weight, but in gaining confidence!

I have been at a plateau since May - yes, MAY people... I have tried everything and am now fighting the urge to give up... so this is perfect timing for me! I need SOMETHING to jump start my metabolism and kick my body back into Losing gear!

Spark On!
We can do this!

Hi everyone, My name is Jan. I've been a member of SP since Jan. 2009, lost to within 15 lbs of goal then fell off the wagon with vacation, holidays, and everything else. Now I must get back on track. I am feeling not as good as I did last spring, and it is b/c of the extra weight I am carrying around. Ten pounds makes such a difference in how I feel. So This is going to help me get back to the exercising!!! Let's go!!

Hi everyone, I think this challenge will be just what I need. I find it difficult fitting in my fitness alongside working, etc. Accountability is a really good thing.

Looking forward to it,

I soooooooooo am off the wagon and searching desperately to get back on. I am a very obese woman (OMG I said it); but I know I can do it. I have to. I am desperate to lose this weight.

1 day, 1 step, 1 pound at a time.

Goals for 2010:

1. Lose 30 lbs. by May 14th (My b-day)

2. Go to the Aquarium at Boston Harbor.

3. Go to Manhattin with my BFF Penny for the day. Bus trip.

4. Walk the entire lap of the test track without stopping. (Maybe even twice.)

5. Try to hold my tongue more. (LOL that should b #1)

I worked really hard at Bootcamp last year - I felt way fitter but lost no weight. This year I plan to lose some weight by keeping a careful eye on the exercise and what I eat.
Good luck everybody!

Thanks for starting this for the new year. I will have my one year anniversary with Spark during January and have been very successful with this awesome site. I belong to a great health club as well and these 2 in combination have given me a weight loss of 80 pounds since Sept. 2008! The most amazing part of this is that I am still at this lower weight for this length of time and getting a little more confident each month that this can be a permanent change in my lifestyle. This is the longest period of time that I have been at this weight since 1964 when I was in high school! I now have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren and I have been raising the oldest grandson who is in 5th grade since he was 4 years old which is one reason I needed to get in shape and healthy! I had been on strong blood pressure medicine with the next step being to see a cardiologist and my blood pressure was still not under control and now I have been off of the medication for a year and my readings are great. I was on cholesterol medication and now I have been off that medication for about a year and my doctor is amazed at how wonderful my numbers are. I am hosting a dinner party for Christmas Eve for 21 people and am not even nervous about being able to handle it and the last time I did a party this size 2 years ago I could hardly move for a week afterwards which is why I didn't think I could do it last year. My life is back and better than ever - thanks Sparkpeople!

I tried a bootcamp last year and had a lot of fun with it (although I was not very consistent). Hoping this time around I do better!!
