Hi! My name is Debbie, am 53 yrs. and I lost over 100 lbs in 2008 by severely restricting calories and carbs. Since adding healthy carbs and more calories (1200-1600) daily I have put on 20 lbs. Of course, some of these pounds were a result of drinking alcohol several times a week during the holidays and eating rich treats which I'm sure sent my calories over 2500 on some days. Anyway, I want to lose those 20 lbs. in a healthy way by not limiting any food groups and eating around 1200 calories a day. I plan on exercising on most days for 30 minutes and will begin some basic strength training at least 2 times/week. I have eliminated alcohol and processed simple carbs and hope I can achieve results this time in a healthy way. Hopefully, I haven't screwed up my metabolism too much. Just had a physical and am healthy (all labs fine, including thyroid). This boot camp will keep my accountable and honest. Good luck to everyone.

Hi Team!

I'm hoping that bootcamp will jump start my weight loss in the new year! I lost 20 pounds last spring/summer and then I got careless about my eating, so I need to refocus on my healthy living goals.

a snowy goodmorning to all boot campers.
i can't believe i'm really motivated enough to sign up for this - i'm not one to get involved. however, i have 30 lbs to lose this year - my son is getting married in june and i want to feel comfortable. i lost and kept off 10 lbs since march 2009, but then vacation happened and i lost focus, plus i'm 50+ which doesn't help. my focus is now back! laura

Hello Fellow Teammates!
I already go to the gym 4-5 times a week. This team is very helpful for learning about different types of aerobic and resistance exercise. I'm exicted to get started. Now, if I can just get my eating under control...
Good luck everyone! We can do this emoticon

Hi everyone!! Day 1 of bootcamp and I am so pumped!!

Although I am not grossly over weight, my weight is becoming a health risk. I am currently on BP medication and found out that my cholesterol is high.

I want my life back!!! I want to be healthy and live to be 100 and I am hoping this is the start of that!

Happy New Year everyone! I can't wait for Bootcamp! I'm nowhere near as good about exercising as I ought to be because I just let other things take precedence unless I have someone to whom I'm accountable (other than me--for some reason, I just don't obey me very well ;-). So teams like Bootcamp are a great motivator. Good luck to everyone!

Hi, everyone! My name is Terrie and I am from the mountains of Virginia. It is cold, cold, cold here this morning.
I found Sparks in July 2008. I have lost 46 lbs. (some of them a couple times) and have kept it off. I am wanting to get serious again and get the last two lbs. (and maybe a few more) off and gain my muscle strength back.
I hope to get strong enough this year to ride a full century bike ride in the fall. I have ridden 3 metric ones (63 miles), but never felt I could do the full 100 miles.

Hi, I'm Vicky from GA. I want to lose 10lbs. I'm not as dedicated as I need to be but this bootcamp may help re-direct me. I think you can do it. Over the years I've learned it starts with a mental challenge. After you make up in your mind this is what you want, you can do it. Get your mind right and it will be easier for you. As of yesterday, I started trying to get my mind right. emoticon emoticon

Happy New Year! Hi everyone I am from croydon, surrey. UK, I have been an SP member for a while now but have not achieved very much weight loss, so I am back on the weight loss band wagon. I am determined to lose weight this year. I shall be fifty in six months and I aim to lose a minimum of 20bs by then. I do not what to be fat, frumpy and fifty. I am fed up of wearing loose fitting clothes. I have set myself more realistic goals this year. I am looking forward to boot camp challenge Good luck everyone

Hi, I'm from south shore, Massachusetts - approaching one of those "9" birthdays within the next month. Once again making myself the promise not to be same size next year. (Downwards not upwards!) Have 2 grown sons, 4 grandchildren and large dog! We've been snow bound since 1/1 so that means I've started my diet 2x already and today is my 3rd and final start for a new life!
