My husband and I watched Food Inc and on the same weekend I got The kind diet book from the library. My hubby wants to eat healthier and has become very interested in being a vegetarian.

At the moment we are doing salads, veggies etc. I have purchased a few Morningstar type products. But my husband is not keen on using these processed foods on a regular basis, which is fine by me. I am not a great cook so I hope that I am able to cook from scratch and make these meals. Many years ago I almost set our kitchen on fire with Kentucky Fried Chicken. I put the buckets and cardboard containers in the oven to keep warm. Set the oven at 500 and walked away. The moment I opened the oven I guess the influx of oxygen made the boxes ignite. Ooopps!!


Watching salt intake also trying not to buy foods that have high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.

No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.

If an item has more than 10 ingredients I put it on the Do Not Buy List as it is too processed.
