The Body odor issue is odd. I found that I smelled when I started. It is normal flushing out all that crap I used to eat. Lucky you!

The difficult is done at once; the impossible takes a little longer.

Hi, my name is Colleen. I'm 25, and I live in Tucson, AZ, and love my beautiful city.

I became vegetarian when I was about 18 after watching Meet Your Meat and was strict lacto-ovo (in retrospect, this makes no sense after watching that video, but thatís the past) until about age 21. I then became a vegan for about 8 months. It was extremely rewarding - I was at my lowest weight ever, and felt amazing. But I was in college and didn't have time to properly feed myself. So I gave it up because I was frustrated by having steamed broccoli every night, and went back to lacto-ovo. About a year ago I got real lazy and became pescatarian to accommodate my boyfriend and I being on South Beach. Plus, I admit that I love shellfish. Nonetheless, the whole time I've been vegan as a consumer, in that I've never worn leather, and didn't use household products, makeup, and hygiene stuff that was tested on animals or had animal ingredients. But really, that is not enough.

Finally, after this New Year, I said to myself, "That's it! You're going to stop living hypocritically, damnit!" and went vegan again 3 days ago. I was pissed at myself because I *know* the plight of cows in the dairy industry and chickens at factory farms. And I also know of the damage that fishing does to ocean environments and that fish have pain receptors, too. My eating habits could not be justified.

So far, I've been following the Kind Diet for a few days and I have so much energy, even this soon. I'm really hoping I can stick with it. Joined as many things like this SparkTeam to try to motivate myself!

Side note: Anyone that their B.O. went away? Odd and gross to talk about, I know, but I used to get killer B.O. and I haven't worn deodorant/antiperspirant since I started this and I emit no smell. It's awesome! I had the same experience when I was vegan before. I'm confused though because I should be detoxing right now...yet no body odor.

'All creatures on earth feel like we feel, endeavor for happiness like we do. They love, suffer and die like we do. All beings in distress have equal rights for protection. Not to cause our humble brothers pain is our commitment to the animals. But to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission to serve them whenever they need us.' -St. Francis of Assisi
