Hello everyone! My name's Cherise. I got my fitbit a couple of months ago and I love it! It has really helped me to move more and to learn my habits. Actually, I have been posting to this team for a couple of weeks, but I never did introduce myself. emoticon Please feel free to add me as a friend! You should be able to find me using my user name. Happy new year!

Glassart, we are in the same boat.... I am losing back to goal what I have gained over the holidays. I love the way the fitbit reminds me to be active.

Thanks for the info on the silent alarm, CarolJean. Like many, I asked for and received my Fitbit for Christmas, and it is wonderful. I have 8 pounds to lose after the Thanksgiving through Christmas holidays and this gadget is so motivating. I log my nutrition and some exercise on Spark (ST and yoga), and my Fitbit One does the rest.

I finally found it on the website. You set the alarm on the website and then have to sync so the alarm is activated in the Fitbit. I love mine so far. Plan a little mall walk this afternoon. A couple days ago, I was informed I had climbed Angor Wat.

Lost 65 lbs and maintained since 2006.

Hello fellow Fitbit owners! I just bought a Fitbit Zip with gift cards I received as Christmas gifts! I like the way I can wear it on a daily basis without anyone noticing. I especially like how it automatically syncs with SparkPeople! I am convinced that by wearing my Fitbit on a routine basis, that I WILL reach my goal of lossing 12 pounds by March 25th! I'm looking forward to the support this team can lend me and I look forward to the challenges the team will give me! Happy New Year everyone! Let's step it up a bit! emoticon

I haven't tried the alarm yet, I don't use an alarm....oddly enough it hasn't failed me yet! But the website instructions seem to be pretty useful. Maybe try a test run before you need it?

My son gave me a fitbit one for Christmas.... I asked politely for one. It is making me so much more conscious of how often I try to be "efficient" instead of moving more. I have done 7 stairs today so far and plan to do three more just before I sync and settle down for the night.
BTW, does anyone know how to set the silent alarm. In a month, I will be starting a 6:30 AM yoga class and want to use the silent alarm.

Hey ya'll this is my first time posting on here so I hope I do it right. Santa brought me a fitbit one for Christmas and I am so excited to get fit and feel younger again. I have regained 50 lbs in the past year and a half due to medications and depression. Hoping that fitbit will keep me motivated and accountable, kinda like an angel on my shoulder telling me to get off my butt and move.

I just bought a fitbit. I have been wanting one for a couple of months and decided the New Year would be a nice time to reward myself with a new motivating gadget. I had planned to buy the fitbit one, but changed my mind and got the zip instead. I am not as interested in the sleep monitor, so the zip sounded like it would be just fine for me. The clerk at Brookstone said I have 30 days to exchange it if I decided I want to exchange for the fitbit one. I just synced I and cannot wait to try it our tomorrow!

I have been a Fitbit addict since my daughter gave it to me for Christmas 2 years ago. I did lose it in an airport once and had to replace it, but I have since learned to be very careful. I would guess I have missed less than a dozen days of wearing it in these 2 years. I have learned it is difficult to get 10,000 steps in a day, but I still try. Typically, if I notice I haven't moved much, I will try to "hoof it" and round up to the nearest 000, or try to squeeze in a couple thousand steps by the end of the day, or something like that. I'm also friends with my daughter and her roommate, which is fun to try to beat them. Now, I can find more friends on SP!!

I'm a mother of two teenagers who is trying to find a way back to the younger, healthier Mom that I was 10 years ago. I purchased the Fitbit with hopes it would help me be more accountable. As a nutritionist told me "You know the basics, you need an enforcer" My goal is 12000 steps a day.

Sounds like Fitbit did well over the Christmas season with all these new users! I, too, got a Fitbit for Christmas and am just starting to use it. I do think it is motivational to log steps and see how active or inactive I am during each day. Onward and downward!

On logging and tracking. I take my fitbit off for hard aerobic exercise and track it separately. Otherwise I wear it. I also track ST separately, but keep the fb on to count the steps which I think are independent of lifting, etc. Don't know if it's the best way, but it's my consistent method. I'm still learning too as I've only had mine a few weeks. Welcome to the team!

Hi, I'm Kimi George, been on Sparkpeople for a very long time, but just started seriously exercising and logging my food on Oct. 1, 2012. I'm hoping to lose 50 pounds and write a book called 50 Over 50! I am the guinea pig for my book.

I do have a question of all of you. How are you logging your fitbit activity AND your gym activity? I feel like I'm double entering because I know some of my fitbit activity includes my gym time.

I'm open to suggestions, and I'm looking forward to being in this group.

Hi. I got my Fitbit for Christmas. I've been on SP for several years and have been fairly successful. I have been using a pedometer, but this will ramp it up. I ust set it up, but I'm looking forward to my first full day using it.

To synch your SP food tracker with the fitbit, go to the bottom of the SP nutrition tracker and there will be a sync with fitbit button.

Hi, my name is Carey. At my request, my DH bought me a Fitbit One for Christmas. I just set it up today on my computer and iphone and immediately linked it with my SparkPeople account. I plan on using it in conjunction with a new attitude towards diet and exercise to make 2013 my year to achieve my health and weight goals.

Good morning! I'm Kristen and have been using FitBit off and on for over a year (depending on if I've lost it or not). It has been a great way to gauge how active I am besides counting cardio minutes. I love that it can sync up with SP now. Also, I like that I can share my food info from SP with FitBit.

Hello all ! I'm Barbara, 43, married, two grown kids, four grandkids.
I lost about 20lbs two years ago and have kept most of it off. The last few months I just lost my mojo and am trying to find it again. I like to do mud runs and cardio dance I endure weight class because it's good for me but seriously hate every second. LOL

So far I'm loving the fit bit and it is motivating me, I hate logging in and seeing that I'm at the bottom of the pile!

Hi I'm Monica, or Satchmo99

My DH bought me a Fitbit Zip for Christmas (it was on my wish list). We're having an at home day today, so I've just set it up and joined the SparkPeople teams. I had been using a stand-alone pedometer, but wanted one that would sync with SP.

I'm a bit disappointed that I couldn't search for a group by name, so wasted a long time "next paging" to get to SP.

I was impressed by how easy it was to set up the FitBit. Now to start walking the walk. Oops, I should have set it up before my morning walk.

How do I sync the SP food tracker to FitBit?

Hi everyone!

I finally received my FitBit one from Amazon today. It looks so tiny and light, I hope I won't lose it.
I am amazed how it is synched with my Spark fitness tracker. I joined some Spark teams on the FitBit website to see how everyone is doing.

Time to burn some calories!

I just received my Fitbit One today! Used my Christmas gift cash to buy one. I've been waiting months for this! So excited to have it! I have a desk job and am hoping that it will keep me motivated to get up and move more often throughout the day.
Looking forward to getting to know some other FB users!

Hi everyone!

I've had my fitbit for about 6 weeks.

I work from home in front of the computer all day. So this really helped me to realize just how inactive I am, even with 3 hours strength training at the gym and "regular" cardio sessions.

I just got a treadmill desk (LOVE IT!!!) and start a new exercise and diet next week.

I'd love to hear how others have used fitbit and their treadmill desk to lose weight.

Hi, I'm Kristi. My husband and daughter got me a Fitbit One for Christmas, and I am loving it. I live in Alaska, so it is hard to get out in the winter to workout. DVDs are my workout of choice. The Fitbit is helping me keep moving.

Hi Everyone!

I have spent the last 10 months at home, unemployed. This has really given me the time to work out all the time, whenever I wanted to.

The new year has brought me a new job, and I'm afraid that I'll slack off in the workout department, since I'll have a long commute each way. Enter the Fitbit! I can always find time to do some walking and maybe some stairs. While I'm not giving up on the working out, this will make sure I get ALL of my fitness in.

Hi everyone! My name is Mel. I have a Fitbit one that was a present for myself and it just came yesterday. I have already figured out how to track my sleep which I did last night and am on my way to getting some steps in today. I will be looking forward to seeing how I do once I am back at work on Wed. I am looking forward to learning from everyone on how best to use the Fitbit!
My husband and I are also wanting to get into better shape so we can keep up with our grandchildren better (ages 4, 1 & 1). I am babysitting two of the grandchildren today so will do more steps than I am sure I do on a usual day!

SparksPerson for 2+ weeks: Been thinking about getting a pedometer for several weeks to keep track of steps and then a friend told me about FITBIT. When I saw that the FB One even tracks sleeping patterns...I knew I had found the right piece of training equipment! I did my set-up yesterday and can't wait to see today's results. Seems like an awesome tool to me! I am definitely a numbers kind of person.

Hi I've been in Spark People about a month and my husband and I just got fitbits. So far the fitbit is a lot of fun but I wish I understood how it worked a little better. I got my 10000 steps badge yesterday. emoticon

Hi! My darling hubby got me the fitbit one for Christmas. A real hot item this year, I think! I love that it syncs to SparkPeople. This past month I haven't been able to get on SP as often as I'd like, but I'm raring to go!

Hi! Got me a FB One and Aria scale for Christmas. I have been using the Body Media Core Band. Gonna give this a whirl. Like the fact that SP food sincs to the FB and that the scale sincs to the FB as well.

Hi! I got a fitbit one for Christmas from my hubby...so did not expect it but I love it. I was so amazed at how easy it is to use and all the things it tracks. Especially like that it can link to my Sparkpeople account.
