I received a fitbit for Christmas. I have to say so far I love it. I find it easy to use and very helpful.
I did over 15,000 steps yesterday. Today I'm on track to hit the 10000 mark. I haven't used it in the gym yet, but it is great for walking.

My Rewards!

1. When i reach 260 pounds, I'm buying myself a Civil War Book from Amazon.

2. When I reach 250 pounds, I'm rewarding myself with a new outfit.

3. When I reach 235 pounds, I plan on going skydiving. I also plan on shouting for joy in Praise to Jesus no matter where I am at.

Hi, also got mine for Christmas---my mom got it for me---and just got my son to help me set it up. Can't wait to see how I do---esp. when I go back to work next week---already did a bunch of steps without it this morning doing housework---but that is okay. Hoping it will motivate me not to sit here all day while home.

This is going to sound familiar, I also got fitbit for Christmas. I wish it worked with Perfect Diet Tracker, which I've used for a couple of years. I hate to lose that data, and can't imagine taking the time to re-enter it!

The good news is that fitbit brought me back to sparkpeople. I follow a high fat diet, usually 70%, and it works. My lab numbers are great. Do the research. Low fat diets are hard on your cholesterol levels! Read good fats bad fats by Gary Taubes.

Hi! My name is Kristine, or Mouse. I also got a fitbit for Christmas. My sister got one from her work a year or so ago and loved it. They ordered another bunch of them and she got me one! Really excited to see what this does for me. Gotta figure out the sleep tracking thing, but seems like it'll be fun. I just set it up last night so it hasn't had time to sync yet.

I'm a single author and insurance agent from Southern WI and I just joined a local gym last night. I joined the gym because my sister joined and the fee is only $10 a month. Can't beat that!! Here we go!

P.S. call me Mouse, that's what all my friends call me!! Marie is my middle name.

My name is Muriel and I got the fitbit for Christmas. At first I had trouble getting it sync to my computer. I printed of the fitbit manual from fitbit.com website and went from there. It was very easy with printed instructions! haha Last night was the first nite to use the sleep tracker and I was pleasantly surprised with the info. I already love my fitbit and cant wait to continue this journey.

Hi I got this fitbit for Christmas too. I actually don't know much about it at all, I recommended it for my brother in law (who also got one and loves it) and so I am wearing mine today and figuring it out and I think I will like it but I am not sure how to use it really! Here we go! :)

I've been using Spark People since last spring and got a FB One for Christmas, too! I'm interested in learning all about it, but in all the chaos of Christmas, I haven't gotten to do that yet. That along with the added frustration of not getting internet service because everyone in the house is trying to connect multiple devices to our sorry DSL line. Wouldve been nice to get some basics with my FB on paper so I could get started. I was interested in monitoring my sleep, but I didn't even do that right. :( It's pretty cool, though. I hope maybe some savvy user here could post some basic tricks for us technically challenged sparkers. For example, I read something about holding the button down and putting it in timer mode if you're doing some activity like tennis that measures more than steps. After you finish that activity and stop the timer and sync that, you can go to activities and mark what you did. I just happened to stumble on that tidbit while trying to learn about sleep mode. I'd love more tips like that!

As many of you, I received my FB One as a Christmas gift from my family. My daughter says they must be a hot item this year as she was hoping to get me the purple one but nobody had it. She had a tough time finding a standard black one. Whatever color it is - I LOVE IT! Well, okay so it's only been 24 hrs but it has me excited again about eating right and exercising. I will get 10,000 steps in today!!!!!
I have a hard time staying on track. I've been on SP for 6 years. You would think after that much time I would have this whole weight thing down and under control.....not so!!!
I have a hard time staying consistent and motivated, resulting in a roller coaster ride of 15-20 pounds. Currently needing to lose 20+ pounds, my FB and I are ready for the pounds to be gone!!
I plan to track my food intake on SP while letting my FB track my activity. At the end of the day I will sync my FB to my FB account which is linked to my SP account.

Hi all! I bought myself a Fitbit One for Christmas and am having fun with it so far. Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer food logs to Sparkpeople? I've gotten the activity logged, but not food. That said, I think I'm more inclined to use Fitbit for food/calorie tracking, as they have the ability to account for the fact that I'm nursing and SP doesn't (that I've found).

I'm hoping to get more active again after the baby goes into daycare after the new year, but I'm still figuring out how to fit workout time into a full-time job, 2 kids (4 years and 4 months), nursing, pumping, etc. Not to mention the baby is far from sleeping through the night at this point, so I think I'll be easing back into working out. But I must, as I can't afford a new wardrobe and my nursing appetite is seriously off the charts!

Hi Carol, That one I know....if you go to your Sparkpoints, in the one time challenges there is a link on the right to connect it from SP to FB. I'm now trying to completely understand what transfers over and how, but it does seem to work well.

Hi,

My hubby got me the Fitbit Ultra back in September. I hadn't been active on SP in awhile but found this group today. I love watching the numbers on my Fitbit. Last few months it didn't get as much use as I would have liked due to some health issues, but looking to change that again.

We also have the Fitbit Aria scale. LOVE that!

Hello,

I didn't get mine for Christmas, but got one for my husband as a gift, and one for myself at the same time. We both started tracking steps with it today. I think the automatic updates to SP will be helpful. I am disciplined about tracking my nutrition and fitness (workouts) but to remember to log steps everyday is hard.

I've found a lot of helpful info on this team's boards about avoiding double counting exercises etc. so here goes !

Hi! I'm Sheila and I, also, got my Fitbit One for Christmas. I wore it all day yesterday and am excited to push myself to the 10K steps every day!

My challenge has always been to be consistent with exercise... and I'm planning for another 1/2 marathon in 2013, so consistency will really help to make that an easier battle! lol

I'm excited to meet my 10K goal every day and then some...

Hi,
My name is Carol and I got my Fitbit One for Christmas. I just figured out how to sync with my computer, but that's about all, so far.

My New Year's goal is to get very serious about losing 30 lbs!!! I plan to walk it off, along with some other misc exercises.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have a lot of trouble staying on track. I hope, that with a proper pedometer, and one that is fun to use, I'll better luck.

Good luck and Happy Holidays!!

Hi!

I am Jenny and I got a fitbit zip for christmas! I am super excited to have one and help me continue to get into shape. So far, I have loved watching the numbers go up and was really excited to take it to the gym with me this morning. I have found that I am still a long way from the 10,000 step goal.... haha.
Excited to meet people from this team and learn about all the different ways members are using their fitbit!

Yay fitbit - what a great way to start 2013!

I'm another recipient of a FitBit Christmas gift! So far I love it...The sleep tracker was the first thing I tried last night. I'm really hoping this is a motivator to help boost my activity. Good luck to all of us in the coming year with putting this tool to good use!

Hi, I'm Jessika! My parents got me a FitBit for Christmas! I'm excited to retire my old step counter, which has served me faithfully for 3 1/2 years, but all it does is count steps. So I'm excited to play with all of the features on my FB Ultra!

Good morning, Sparklers. I have not gotten my FitBit yet but I'm GOING to. It seems to be a great tool to help you know exactly where you are activity-wise. I'm also excited to find out just how much quality sleep I'm getting each night. If anyone has comments about the sleep tracking or more information about if it truly works, please sparkmail me about it.

As soon as I purchase mine, I'll come back and add some friends! I think it's neat to have that feature of seeing where everyone else is and keeping up with them! Love it! Thanks for creating this group and I hope to get to know more of you soon.

HI There!!

My name is Paul. I am not new to Sparkpeople, but I just got a fitbit and I am super excited. Being able to accurately track and not guess on exercise is awesome!

I am the healthiest I have ever been in my life! I have more energy than i know what to do with at times. I can't believe that I was on the brink of death, living in a wheelchair unable to do things for myself. Surgery saved my life!

I second the Merry Fitbit! I got the One for Christmas today also, guess I was good this year! I've been maintaining my weight for just over a year & looking forward to having the Fitbit to help me stick with it.

Mine did this morning without me even wanting it to. Had to delete all the doubles.
I suggest searching for fitbit on SP and sync from there.

It did not do yesterdays food but did this mornings automatically.

I bought my Fitbit a couple of weeks ago but as I also got them as surprises for my family so couldn't set mine up till today. I hope it encourages me to walk more!

Someone earlier mentioned the Dashboard would sync with my food tracker but so far it hasn't. If anyone has a suggestion I would appreciate it!

Merry Christmas to all! emoticon

Merry Christmas! Santa gave me a FitBit, and now I'm jazzed. Unfortunately, the gym is closed and it's pretty frigid today, but I can still get my steps and burn some calories. One more tool for my dashboard, along with blood glucose, blood pressure, and the scale. WooHoo!

Hello FitBit Team,

I just received my device in the mail yesterday. I like what I see already . . . I am looking forward to checking in weekly/daily based on my results. It definitely is motivational. Merry Christmas to all of you and your families

At the present time, I am filling in for a co-worker for a 3rd shift overnight awake counselor. Currently doing housework and my shift is obviously not completed and I have already burned 344 calories. In between time, I'm taking little breaks and pace myself while I clean, etc.

emoticon Well I got my Fit bit a couple of weeks ago. This is alot better then a pedometer. It has been two weeks and I haven't lost it yet. I like that it can be clipped on in different spots. It does go thru the washer and dryer and come out working( that was a scary experience when I realized I had done that.) . Hope to enjoy this team. Haven't worked up to many steps yet. After Christmas I am going to get at it. Merry Christmas to all!!
