Just got the fitbit one for Christmas... I'm so excited to get started. I was once upon a time using a WW pedometer and the WW program and it really helped. I'm a full time working mom, working 2 jobs during the week and this weight that I Had lost is really starting to creep back up on me... I need to make some changes now and get this weight off for GOOD.... So, I can't wait to get started with my fitbit and see the changes in my life not only for myself, but my family / kids!!! :)

Look forward to meeting new people and learning how to use this contraption... :)

Just got a new Fitbit One for the holidays and am excited to use it to start seriously tracking my intake and workouts. I have found having some kind of physical device (like a Fitbit or something similar) really helps me to stay focused. I've stalled on the weight loss for a few months and am so ready to get back into it. I'm still learning how this all works together with SparkPeople and I hope it's not going to be too difficult (especially tracking my food which is all on SparkPeople already). Good to meet everyone here, looking forward to learning more.

Got my FitBit today for Christmas from my kids. Got it hooked to my sparkpeople account. I am having some trouble with my sugar and my weight is way to high and I am ready to get started! Excited to learn all about the FitBit and glad to be part of this team.

Got my Fitbit One yesterday, connected it to SP, set a new steps per day goal, and I'm on my way! Good motivation is what I'm after and think this will really help with that.

Awesome little fact for those that haven't figured it out yet... When you sync your fitbit with SP and enter your foods into the SP nutrition tracker, it also syncs back into your fitbit. So if you have your favorites already saved in SP, you don't need to worry about putting them in fitbit. emoticon

My hubby sent me a link to a new web site that can be linked to the fitbit. It's called FitBolt and it's a good resource for people at the computer/desk. You set the timer and every x amount of minutes it will send a notice and you stop do an exercise and then get back to your day. I really like that SP has the sync feature too.

I got the Fitbit One. Only had it 1 day and I love it already! It was really interesting to see my sleep pattern. I also logged my food for breakfast. That may take some time commitment, but it looks like once you put in a food it will be listed to the side so you can click it easily the next time. I was amazed at the calories I almost ate (low fat cheddar cheese) but then saw what a big chunk that took out of my allotment for the day!

Now on to some heavy duty housework to get ready for Christmas. Can't wait to see what Fitbit tells me about my activity level today!

Hi everyone! Just got my Fitbit last night and I'm excited! I actually still have a few days left on my Bodybugg subscription so I'm using both of them for a few days to see how different they are. Right now, the Bodybugg is saying I've burned more calories than the Fitbit but it doesn't sync with SparkPeople and it doesn't record my sleep.

Hi, I just got my FitBit One a little over two weeks ago. I work 12 hour shifts at a local hospital and really wondered how much I actually walked given any day. Well this little device has really pushed me to move more on my days off.

I also didn't realized how my walking the dog really adds up and how I was REALLY under eating on calories. Since I've added my little friend to the mix and up'd my calorie intake my I have dropped 3lbs. Proof that under eating is just as bad as overeating.

Can't wait to buy the FitBit Aria scale at the beginning of the year.

Hi,

I have had my Fit Bit a few weeks now. I just sync it with Spark people. I was having trouble doing that.
I am a Paraeducator at a high school. I agree with NDteacher1 about how the family is fallen apart and parents expect you to take care of the children. The parents do not care if the kids do their homework or not. Some come to school hungry, but the parents sure have money to smoke.
I was doing fairly good job of exercising and eating right until December started. All of the staff have taken turns bringing a meal in with all the trimmings. It has been great to have everything but I have ate more sweets and then in turn I want more sweets. Starting today, I am going back to doing the right thing. I will feel a lot better, and I know this because I was feeling a lot better.
To be up front, I probably will not get on here very much. I have a Spark Family and I sometimes my time runs out of posting with them. I did want to connect with FitBit users though.
Merry Christmas to one and all. I will get on here when I can.

Hi all,
I've had a fitbit for ages since they first started. I've had a few mishaps with mine and this is my 3rd one. It's looking a bit worn. I've not really utilized it as I should so I'm looking forward to seeing how this new sync feature will help with my motivation.

Hey Stephanie! I just used my One last night to track my sleep for the first time and it told me I woke 20 times! I still got a 91% efficiency, so I'm going to say yes, that's completely normal.

Hi - I'm Stephanie!!! I've been on SP since 2005!!! Got a FitBit Ultra last year for Christmas and it sat there for a long time because my year was just crazy.

Anyway, this is day two for me. Yesterday was my first full day and I managed to get just over 10,000 steps in.

Played with the sleep tracker last night - very interesting. It says I was awake 8 times during the night, yet I got a 96% efficiency rating. Maybe waking several times (that I don't even remember) is normal. More research to be done.

I look forward to seeing what I can do with the FitBit!!!

Hello!

I'm Jodi and I just received my Fitbit One this afternoon. I joined this team a few weeks ago to ask questions about different models and so on.

I've been finding some success, I've lost a bit over half of the weight I'd like to by taking better care with portion control, logging at least some of what I eat most days, and by walking as much as possible on my treadmill.

As I live in Mexico, I couldn't get the Fitbit shipped to me, so I had to wait until I came to the US for the holidays. It's kind of ironic, because life on vacation in the land of Thai food, beer, and scrumptious desserts is quite different from what I allow myself at home... I'm trying to keep my eye on my goals, and I feel like the Fitbit will help me do that.

I look forward to checking in more regularly now that I can really see/understand the conversations as I'll have my Fitbit One in my hands, too,

Happy holidays!

Hi! I'm Audrey! And I just got my FitBit One today! I'm super excited about it and impatiently waiting for it to charge.

I'm 28, married and mother to a 2 year old (complete opposite of) angel (LOL). She certainly keeps me busy! We're from Wilkes-Barre, PA. If you're not familiar with Wilkes-Barre, we're about 20 miles south of the infamous Scranton.

That's about it. Nice to meet you all!

Hi all! My name is Kelly, and I activated my FitBit last Tuesday or Wednesday. I can't remember now which day it was. I've got it synced up with SparkPeople, and it seems to be working fine for me. I find it VERY motivating to check my steps throughout the day.

Hi everyone. I joined this page a few months ago but have just been watching. I think I'm ready to get involved.

I'm Jen and I just turned 28. I've been overweight my whole life and never knew what to do about it.

Finally, about 4 years ago, I started tracking my calories and learned how to actually lose weight in a healthy manner. Sadly, though, I've had trouble sticking with things for long term. I was almost at 300 pounds, got down to 270 or so and went back up to 292. Most recently, earlier this year, I was down in the 260's but since having to move back in with my mom because of her health issues (she's also always been overweight) her bad choices have rubbed off on me and I'm back up to 290 or so. I'm not even sure because I'm afraid to step on the scale.

I know I really need to live with the truth and face the scale, but it feels really terrible to know that I was doing so well and now I have to do it over again. It's been a struggle getting back into exercising and counting my calories again, but I think I'm finally ready to try again. I just have to believe that this next time will be the charm that will keep off the weight.

I've used Livestrong and Loseit in the past, but I've never really used SparkPeople. I've had a FitBit for a few months now but it's been collecting dust. Plugging it in now. I need motivation badly. I'm also looking for new friends who are willing to help kick my butt when I need it (and I'll be there to kick yours in return!)

I believe in the power of positive thinking and lifting each other up.

Happy to be here.

Hello all!! I am Lacey and I just recently got a fitbit... I have been trying all sorts of things to make a dent in my weight loss, I really hope this works. At this time last year I was down to almost 300... Now I am back to just about 350, last May (and before that) I was constantly hovering at 350-360. I felt amazing when I was down to 300, but now I have no energy again and unfortunately I can't go back to what I was doing last year that made me lose 50lbs in only 7 months. I was wroking at Disney World in Orlando and I was really active, but where I live now it is much harder to be active.

I bought a fitbit like 2 weeks ago, I have yet to get up to 10,000 steps a day, and I have only--just yesterday--made it over 5,000. I am a cashier and don't usually have much opportunity to walk much while I am at work. I am working on getting more active it will just be very difficult. But I know I can do it!

But anyways, hello and I hope you are all doing well! : )

Got my Fitbit a couple of weeks ago. So far I love it. I have nearly lost it twice, so I put a safety lanyard on it and that seems to help. I am a special education teacher, have been for 30 years. My job NEVER gets easier. Children are becoming more challenging and my belief is because our nation and families are broken we will decline as a society. I'm sorry by how negative this sounds but our world has changed so very greatly in a relatively short time and today's tragic events are a further reminder of a more simple, innocent time. Was it perfect, no, but it was better. Parents actually disciplined their kids, they didn't want to be their best friends and send them off to school to have teachers raise them. I know not everyone does this, but more and more are relying on the school to do this and then when they are disciplined the parents complain. Sadly, I can tell you right now which students, as young as 2nd grade will be headed to a life of crime and jail, but what can I do? I can guide and pray, and pray, and pray.

I'm Janet. I just got a Fitbit One. I am a bicycle commuter. My regular distance is 20 miles a day. I am also in training for a Half Marathon this August. I am working on Week 7 of Jeff Galloway's Half Marathon training program.

Hello, I am Mary Lou. I've been a somewhat lapsed Spark People member and now an inactive one, just had bunion surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago so I am pretty much off my feet. I got my Ftibit Zip with Vitality points from my employer's wellness plan. It arrived yesterday and I finally have it synced to Spark People.

Looking forward to figuring out more about that Fitbit and other team members.

I finally managed to get my fitbit working and synced to Spark People. There's a lot of information it can give you.

Hi everyone! Just linked my new fitbit to spark page and ready to get started. Hopefully it works to page as expected. Eager to get back to walking regularly. Haven't walked regularly since my lab passed away 3 years ago. Have a good day everyone!

Hello all,

Just received my fitbit from my husband as a Chanuka present. Thank you! I love you so! emoticon

My name is Lisa and I live in Berks County, PA along with above mentioned adorable spouse. I just took a 10 minute walk and it syced everything right up.

The only question I have is how does it know what your stride is. When I used a regular pedometer it asked me to measure my stride and input it. I still haven't seen anything about it on the fitbit website.

Take care all emoticon

Hi my name is Rhonda. I've had my Fitbit for about 2 months now but I just found this web site. I hope to lose about 30lbs doing this.

Hello my name is Julie and my BF just purchased me a fitbit last night for Christmas to go with the Garmin I have to help keep a more accurate picture of what I am doing. One question do you have to set the timer each night on the one?

Julie
