Hi all,
I live in the north of England. Been on and off Spark for years, up 10lbs, down 7 lbs and now need to get rid of that 10lbs again ( at least) . Fairly fit, not really that heavy- just always a little over the BMI mark.
Got fitbit alta last week and think this might give me the push I need.
Yesterday it rained all afternoon and evening. Usually that would put me off walking, but NO, I put on my jacket, got wet but did 11,136 steps by end of day.
Liz

Hello :-) I've been on and off for years. I lost 70 lbs in my 20's, gained weight with becoming a Mom and then lost 90 lbs a couple years ago. I had a terrible, chaotic, emotional year last year and destroyed all of that hard work! So here I am again! I had bad luck with a couple fitbits losing them (those danged clasps!) but now I have a Charge HR with a real watch band lol. It has taken a half year to get my mind right again, life nice and quiet, and face the music that I've been being a bit stubborn about getting my diet in order, and VERY stubborn about getting active again.

My daughter started the new school year yesterday, August 1st, so it was the perfect day to get serious and create new habits!

Oh, good--let's encourage one another. I found a "walking buddy" and we keep one another going 5 days a week. We've worked our way up to nearly 4 miles a day. See if you can find someone to join you. My gal Judy is a real talker--she rambles on and I listen (or not), but it's really knowing she'll be there that gets me up and going. Best wishes! Take one step, and then another. That's all there is to it.

Hello! My name is Kristin and I've actually been on SP for about 5 years. I'm back again :)

I've been wearing a fitbit since Christmas, but it's time to get serious! I can't wait to get lots of inspiration from everyone here.

Hi, my name is Cassie, and I have transplanted myself from Wisconsin to South Texas. Boy, howdy, what a change. I have been on and off SparkPeople a few times, but find a few pounds sneaking back on, so here I am again. When I got my rescue dog, Stella, we walked three times a day and I lost 30 pounds, but when we moved here, the heat made it easy to put off those walks. Between that and my fondness for TexMex food...well...you know the rest.

I'm on my second FitBit. The first one stopped charging--it was the little one called (I think) the Flex. This one (Charge? I don't know) tells time, counts steps and more. Sunday is never a good day for my count because I don't put it on in the morning. I play organ and piano at church, and it counts "steps" as I play. Looking forward to reading your stories and getting acquainted with you.

Cassie

Hi everyone, My name is Amandine, I live in Scotland in the UK and I adore my Fitbit Blaze. I had the fitbit One at first, I loved it but it was so small I kept on forgetting to take it with me, so upgraded to the Blaze.

I'm back to Spark and wearing this weird contraption on my wrist. I'm actually charging up the Fitbit and using it--who would have thought! I need to get involved with the teams and others on Spark to keep me motivated, so here I am.

Hi!
My name is Beth and I'm from Pennsylvania.
I used Spark a long time ago and was very successful. However sometime over the last year or so I've fallen way off the wagon and have gained back everything I previously lost - But I'm not giving up -- I'm jumping back on and I will be successful this time.
I have a fitbit that I love and look forward to success using both tools.
Thanks!

Hi, my name is Erica and I just got my fitbit alta last week. I was happy to find out it could sync with SP.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:28-31

Hey everyone! I'm Jen. I just bought myself a Charge HR as an early birthday present for myself. I have it all set up but I'm waiting for it to finish charging so I can figure out how it works. I'm hoping this gives me motivation to move and get out.

Wow, I didn't know there was a team. Cool! Couldn't believe my insurance would send me a fit bit thought I would get a pedometer. Anyway, I hope to make friends here. Really need the accountability and would love to be a cheer leader to others. Hoping having this will help me get off my chair and move more.

So, when my new fitbit came in last week I had the worst time trying to get it to sync. It kept saying driver error-tried everything and still no luck with it with my windows 10 computer. So, yesterday I tried it with my apple laptop and it did sync-YAY!

Then I had to figure out how to sync the fitbit account with the Sparkpeople account. It did on my windows 10 and since it carries over to the apple I am all set now.

Still no luck syncing the zip with windows 10-but at least it works with my apple laptop.

Hello all! I've been MIA for a couple of years and I'm starting over. I fell off the wagon big time but I'm trying to commit to a lifestyle change now. I'm a single mother of 2 and just moved my family(including my mother) across the country for work. Living in the hotel has been rough and we aren't being active enough nor eating well. I just bought 3 fitbits for my family so we can all be more active together and we're loving it so far. Hopefully we'll all be on track to a healthier life!

Hi! I am a retired teacher who used the SPARK activity tracker for three years. It fell off my pocket yesterday so now I have a fit bit flex. I will have to remember to move my arm when walking. So used to just clipping my tracker on my pocket in the morning.

Hi everyone. I am a single mom, tired of using the baby fat excuse. My child is 11... I'm just looking to get moving in the right direction of shedding the pounds instead of storing them. So I figured I should get more use out of my fitbit, rather than just using it as a watch.

I wear many different hats. First and foremost I am a mother of 7. I am a wife. I am a Coast Guard Veteran. My current endeavor is to get my degree in Naturopathic Medicine. I was working on a science degree when I felt it was not the path I wanted to be on. I will be completing my A.A.S in Complementary and Alternative Medicine with a focus on both Aromatherapy and Herbalism. I will soon be taking my board exam to become a registered Aromatherapist. My husband and I are starting our own holistic apothecary. He is a nutrition consultant, exercise specialist and massage therapist.

We both have struggled with our health and weight. When we started on our path with natural medicine, it was to regain our health. Our youngest is only three. We want to ensure that we are both there for her on her graduation day and to see the lives of all of our children blossom.

I have been using FitBit for a year or more. Recently, I have been using it to challenge myself to complete step goals, heart rate goals and all that fitbit has to offer.

Hi. Lurker, finally introducing myself. Mom, librarian, runner, walker, cyclist, reader, crafter, cook, horrible housekeeper, who spends way too much time with my eyes on a screen of some kind. I've had my Fitbit for almost a year. Use it to track my sleep as much as my steps. I don't spend too much effort trying to make by step goal. Joined this community because I was curious. Happy walking.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Sydney and I am happy to be part of the Fitbit Users Team. I'm 24 and I've been serious and committed to working on my overall health (mental, physical, and spiritual) health since November 2015. I have not lost a lot in pound but I am living proof that the scale is not the end all, be all. I have been working on building some mussel there for may weight has not moved a whole lot in the past few months but my inches have dropped.

Currently I am down about 25 pounds and 3 sizes. I feel great, my lower back is no longer in constant pain, and the depression I was slipping into has improved.

Please feel free to add me to your Fitbit Challenges. I work at a desk all day and fitbit challenges has really been a good way to help me move not only after work and on the weekends but also during the work day. Instead of calling co-workers on the phone I will actually getup and go see them in person. LOL Any way my email is sydney.jackson-clockston14@alumni.colostat

Hi! I'm mom to 2, wife a firefighter, living in the heart of California's Wine Country. *waves*
I'm returning to SP after having successfully lost about 25 pounds in the past, also did WW (I seem to be juggling these same 25 pounds..sigh).
But I'm back and currently working on tracking and water. I've got my FitBit charging as I type.
I need to lose about 50 pounds~ and look forward to losing even just about 10 to feel better. Feeling pretty lousy lately.
Glad to be here!

Hi, my name is Linda, and I am a retired lady who lives in southern Arizona. I have debated and debated buying a fitness tracker, and finally purchased a Fitbit Blaze. Just starting to set it up, and that is taking me a bit of time.

I have been using Sparkpeople for many years, mostly to help me keep fit. And, I hope the Fitbit will help me do that as well. I have osteoporosis. So, exercising is very important to me.

I work out at a gym three times a week, and I try to walk every day. Always try to walk at least 10,000 steps per day. Sometimes that is not easy due to the heat, activities, etc.

Hope to learn from this team how to use the fitbit -- tips, advice, etc.

Hello, my name is Thiry. I have been a member of SparkPeople for several years. My husband and I purchased Fitbit Flex in February. We are both diabetic and need to work on getting our weight down. I have been trying to get to the gym 3+ times a week. I have been having trouble with my back and knee which are added reasons to get this extra weight off. I have lost almost 18 pounds since we got our FitBits in February. I am hoping to lose another 15 pounds before out vacation mid August and a lot more before my son's wedding some time next year (they just got engaged last Saturday night) as I would like to break the 200 pound mark.

Hi all, My name is bev... I have been a fitbit user for about 3 years... I bought the hr last year and am enjoying using it... since I have issues with my knees I am not able to do what I was doing in steps when I first started... in fact just had to take a couple of weeks off my walking as I couldn't hardly get around ... it is easing up this week so went for a walk this morning... I love getting out in the fresh air... heres hoping that when my instaflex gets here it will make a big difference in my pain level. I have it set for 7000 a day. Last weekend we were down on the washington and oregon coast and did myself in sand walking. I love walking on the beach and would do it again.. have a nice day

Hi, I'm Dawn. I purchased a Charge HR specifically for the heart rate tracker. I have anxiety and had an accessory pathway that caused a cardiac arrest a few years ago. It is great to be able to see how my heart is doing throughout the day. I find wearing the FitBit is a constant reminder to move more and to track what I eat. I LOVE THAT! I've always had a hard time tracking in the past but now it is so much easier.

I have lost 8lbs since I started wearing it!

Hi I'm Catniss. I first bought the Alta and soon discovered that it didn't have pulse rate on it. I thought that was important when working out because it shows when you're above fat burning heart rate. The Alta didn't do that. It just kept track of my steps and I felt it wasn't enough even though it was cute which is mainly why I chose that one lol. Anyway I decided to upgrade to the Blaze, it has heart rate built in. I wish it had gps too but you can set it up with your smart phone. I only need to loose 10 to 15 at the most but I find this is harder then loosing 50. I yo yo a pound up and down almost daily and it's so frustrating. Oh I got the Aria scale too. That's amazing it syncs with the app and shows fat percentage and BMI. And weirdly it doesn't weight anything but YOU. Clothes on or off you weigh the same. I tried holding something and my weight didn't change at all. Very smart that aria. LoL Anyway, It's nice to be a part of a group of people that love their FitBits I know I do.

Hi, my name is Jeannie and I am new to Spark. I normally use the loseit app but I had heard this one was much better. I am terrible about keeping track of what I eat but am hoping to get better. This site does seem to look better and hold my attn longer. lol

Hey everyone. My name is Becca. I been here for 22 days and am loving Sparkpeople. I dumped MFP after not having any success. I have a Fitbit Charge, but also use a Suunto Watch for water supports and to track HR. I was motivated to take more serious charge of my health after contracting an unknown illness three months ago that lasted a whole month. Right now I'm waiting for a replacement Charge HR, because my current Charge has problems holding a charge.

I'm Ellen. Just got the Fitbit Alta. I love it so far. I have been on SP for several years but have only recently gotten very motivated and have started losing weight consistently.

I got a Charge HR last week. I am using it to get an idea of my steps (job has me at a computer most days so need to figure out how to get steps in) and my sleep. I was on SP for a few years then got wrapped up in getting my BS, MBA and MSL and got away from cooking, eating properly, virtually no movement, etc. while working full time and going to school full time. I gained back most of what I lost before and now need to head the other way again. I thought the fitbit might help motivate me.

IT does work better if you wear it on your ankle for these types of movements (also biking). The Charge HR will track your active minutes if your heart rate increases (not just steps). I have the same problem when skating or playing hockey - very few steps, but it's actually the active minutes that are most important.

Hi! Happy Independence Day! My name is Tina Lou and I have the Charge HR. I love it, but have had some problems with it syncing to my Spark account and to my devices. I have tried what was suggested to me from the Fitbit support site. Any suggestions would be welcomed. I look forward to getting to know some of you!

My fitness will be easier to track for the excersice. Love my Alta. Now to get my health back on track but everything is so confusing. Happy 4th of July

Hi, I'm back again with fitbit but have been consistent with SP since 10/13. I had a fitbit zip about 2 years ago, lost it, went with the spark tracker for a while, kept losing it and buying another one until my son bought me a garmen vivotit 2 which I still have. His girlfriend just bought me a fitbit, so I'm going to try them both out for a while & decide which one to use. Keep sparking!!

Hi! I have the Fitbit Blaze and I have been using a Fitbit since mid January to help me lose 54 pounds. I absolutely love the Fitbit! It has kept me excited about exercising everyday. I try to do 10,000 steps 7 days a week. Would love friends!!
