My FitBit arrived yesterday. I did the initial 5 minute charge in my car while enroute to the Y. I wore it and my Omron pedo yesterday and surprisingly the steps weren't much different. I synced the FitBit with my phone and this morning ditched the Omron. I love that I came to my SP account and my step info was already recorded! I don't always have time to get to my computer to log steps so it's a comfort to know that a few taps on my phone will get it done for me.

My fitbit arrived Tuesday. Finally it worked Wednesday, but not since then. I have had to read the steps and miles from the fitbit. I've tried everything.
I was so excited when my steps and miles were recorded on the spark site.

I live in Geogia, and I am a retired teacher.
Maybe things will all come together.

My name is Kay, and I live in Northwest Georgia.

Just got my Fitbit today. I am a gadget geek..have had a body bugg, every possible pedometer, and the weird activity monitor from my gym. But I'm glad I finally moved to Fitbit. I'm loving the website, the integration with SparkPeople, the wireless syncing, and the fact that it is tiny and easy to clip wherever. I know that each time I get a new gadget, I get a new burst of energy for exercise. So here I go again...

Hi everyone. I, too, received my fitbit last night and got everything set up. I'm amazed at how it automatically syncs everything for you and tracks everything I need to track. And the best part, of course, is that it works with SparkPeople. I know this gadget will help me remain more motivated because there is no way we can get away from the up to date and accurate stats. Good luck to each of you and thanks for allowing me to join you in our efforts to move more and burn more.

Hello All!

I got my fitbit one this past weekend and got it set up (mostly) last night. I am not sure if I have it worked out yet but am giving it a go. I have been on Sparks for awhile and if I am going to be truthful, have been intermittent rather than steady. I am working for more steady. I tend to go whole hog and become overwhelmed and putter out. I thought that the fitbit, synced with Sparkpeople would be a fun way to go about activity level increase.

Live in WI, work in MN if anyone wants to buddyup.

My Daughter and I requested the fitbit ONE for Christmas and they came yesterday!!! My DH let us have them now instead of waiting for Christmas.
I am NOT tech savvy in the least and was a bit apprehensive about the setup without my DH around but WOWSER was I ever surprised at how easy it was!!!

So now I am wearing it and can't wait to see my stats "roll in"

They both should sync up to SP. I got the Fitbit zip and love it. I am already moving more. It's the thought of it counting all your movement during the day. I want the numbers to be higher each and every day.

Once I get all this Christmas stuff ready i will be able to relax more and get more me time in.

Have a wonderful rest of the week.

First day for my fit use. I couldn't wait to get it.
I have an active job and most days can get in at least 10,000 during the school year. It is my days off that I don't move near as much so hope this will inspire me to do so.

Today was our special Christmas Dinner at work for the college kids and I worked 10 hours not including my break. then I stayed and had some Christmas dinner, Only comes around once a year. They do it right with prime rib, fried shrimp, egg nog, hot cider,.... I enjoyed myself but didn't stuff myself either. I ate on the light side the past 2 days so I could enjoy and not worry.
so far I have walked over 23,000 steps today. But hey- I am under 5 foot so it takes me more steps to go the same distance as a 6' person.

I've had my fitbit for almost a week. I love it because it is small and hooks to your bra and is invisible. Also because it tracks all movements. It is motivating. I wear mine all day long from the time I get dressed to when I get ready for bed. I do find it does motivate me to get up and move more, both at work and at home.

I noticed the other day that the now have them at Target.

Hi! My name is Jennifer. I have been active on SP for almost 90 days and decided to get myself a FitBit Zip for Christmas. It just came in the mail yesterday and I couldn't wait to get it open and play with it. I have been wearing it all day today and it's really motivating me to take those extra steps around the office. Such a tiny little devise is such a big motivator to me! It's awesome.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you as we track our steps together!

Hi all!

I have had my FitBit One for three weeks and I LOVE IT!! It is so motivating. It is more addictive than Facebook. I needed the new motivation. I lost 101 lbs between 2010 and 2011 and gradually gained back 70 back by October 2012. I don't have any friends on the FitBit website yet. My email is cherylrush2008@yahoo.com. I'll be happy to confirm. I live in Central Texas, close to Fort Hood if there are any of you that are interested in helping each other stay motivated.

@SWEDE_SU --if you want the device that tracks your the value of your sleep and it's patterns you want the One --but it costs almost twice as much as the Zip. Honestly, I think it's worth the extra money. It's also sweatproof and invisible when you wear it on the center of your bra like I do. (Incidentally, if you're walking around your house without a bra on, it will still work fine if you clip it to the collar of your t-shirt.) I wear mine around the house while I'm cleaning and doing laundry, and it's so much more encouraging than a pedometer because it tracks all your movements, not just steps.

hi there! i am so new that i don't even have my fitbit yet; i keep trying to make up my mind between the zip and the one, and finally decided to join the team and get advice. not sure if my introduction and advice request should be combined, but let's start here.

i joined spark years ago, but only got serious last march, reached my first goal weight in june, and unbelievably (to me!) lost a total of 20 lbs and hit the low range of "maintenance" in august, so i have now maintained for over 3 months, or 5, depending on when you count:-) (i am indecisive!). i have been working on the maintenance mindset now to make sure i don't revert to my typical yoyo pattern of weight gain, and thought the fitbit would be a good... fit - to have new goals to work on. besides, i am a gadget addict:-))

so... i walk and run (and walk-run, galloway style) and am most concerned with quality - and not losing - the fitbit. i don't know that the sleep recording part would add much for me (although i do have a weird sleep schedule - i work from midnight to 6 a.m., and sleep from 8 pm to midnight and 6 am to 9 am).

which should i get? i am ready to order, but should it be zip or should it be the one?

thanks, and looking forward to getting to know y'all!

Hi all! I am just starting the FitBit challenge and joined the group. I look forward to getting motivated from you and hopefully doing the same in return! I'm a runner and just trying to be more dedicated to moving all day- not just the 3 miles I do in the evenings. It will be a challenge since I have a desk job for 8+ hours a day, but I am up to the challenge!

Happy Sparking!

I'm new to this team, but I'm a SparkPeople oldie!
I hope you love this site and our new fitness toy as much as I do!
SparkPeople helped me lose 125 pounds--be featured in People magazine and on the Ellen show. I think great things are in store with FitBit too!
I'm glad you are here and I'm looking forward to many inspirational steps with you!

I'm Cherry and I live in the UK. I was given my fitbit for my birthday yesterday and I'm looking forward to getting going with it. I usually walk my two dogs for an hour each day plus extra at work, averaging 12000 steps a day but recently I've been ill and haven't walked much at all. I am hoping this will give me the incentive to gradually build up again - aiming for 4000 steps tomorrow!

I'm Chris and live in Sunny San Diego. So most of the time there shouldn't be any excuses why I can't walk.

Went to church later than usual today. Then to the Bistro for my usual Sunday breakfast. Our giving trees were up at church today, so my friend and I made a quick run to Walmart to get the things for the tree. Another thing checked off my long list of things to do.

Now going to spend an hour on the computer catching up on emails, I really don't want to get behind like I was last month.

Then have ornaments to finish and gift candles to make. Planning on getting out for that walk after those things are done. Will put the lights on the tree this evening. Then I will pretty much be all decorated for Christmas.

My goal is also 70,000 steps a week. Hopefully more.

Have a great everyone, keep sparking!

My name is Cecily and I live in Washington State. I haven't used Sparkpeople for a while so I am trying to get online at least every other day to track food, exercise and goals.

I got my Fitbit yesterday. I love it. Can't believe a little electronic device motivated me to get out in today's nasty weather and take my dog for a walk emoticon

I hope I posted this in the right place. Anyway, it feels good to be back.

Hi my name is Sharon and I'm a fitness gadget-aholic. I'm excited about Fitbit because I can already feel the motivation to make sure I get my 10,000 steps a day. I am also looking forward to validating that I do tear around the office more than I sit on my butt.

I hope I'm posting the introduction correctly. The only time I've ever tried before I accidentally started a new topic.

Bronxbabe,

The Dongle is used to sync the fitbit to your computer and to SP. Plug the Dongle into the USB port on your computer. Once it's plugged in, then go to the fitbit site and you can sync the fitbit to your computer. Be sure you put the battery into the fitbit first. The directions on the web site are pretty easy.

Hope this helps!

I love the fact that it is small and you can wear it anywhere and not worry about loosing it or having it add steps when you move it in order to go to the bathroom like most pedometers.

Looking forward to this motivating me to move more.

Hi! I am Jeanette from NYC.

So happy to have some experts to chat with! I just received my fitbit one today. I am close to my weight goal, and I need an extra push to get more activity in. This looked like a good way to do it.

Can someone please explain to me what the dongle is for? The little piece of paper that came with the tracker is next to no help, and I feel like I'm going in circles on the fitbit site.

Thanks in advance.

Hi! I just got my FitBit and I love how easy it is to track mileage. It's also small and I can hide it so I don't have to worry about it falling off into the toilet. This is the best I've had of many!
Looking forward to joining everyone in getting fit.

Wanda, Hope you got your Zip loaded ok. I didn't have any trouble doing mine. I too am hoping that having 'Zippy" will motivate me to be more active. My eating is pretty much under control, although there are some days when I don't think I eat enough.

Now that I don't have to enter my fitness into SP, that should allow more time for me to enter my food. Still as always trying my best to figure out how to find the time to do everything.

We can do this! Hope you enjoy Zippy.

Hi my name is Wanda and I just bought the zip I have not hooked it up yet but should be easy enough. Hope to do it at lunch today. Any words of advise are welcome before I do it.

I have been a member of sparks for a long time. I got away from it as life kept getting in the way and I was losing my passion for it. Dropped out of most teams and trying to get back in to it.

Really hoping me and zippy get along and get going

Used mine today for the first time. Getting ready to check to see how I did. I decided that I wanted to see how much I move on a regular day without the exercise just to compare. I'll let you know how I did.

I really think this will help me get moving.

Gabrielle, I'm finding that one of the first things to go in customer service is a person to actually speak with. It is indeed sad.

I just received my Fitbit yesterday and wasn't able to get it loaded and sync'd until today. I will start using it tomorrow.

I am 63 years young, and have been overweight most of my life. I am separated from my husband for many many years. I have one daughter and 4 grandkids. I work for the school district here in San Diego and am looking forward to retiring in 2 more school year which will be June of 2015. I am currently working only part time, (not by choice) and have a 2 hour commute each way. I do not have a car, so I do a lot of walking without the exercise.

I'm looking forward to being motivated by using the FITBIT.
