Hi All! I have been a member of SP for a while, but I have only been working on what I eat. I have signed up for RetroFit through my job. When I signed up they sent me a FitBit Zip. I am hoping that this gets me moving more and more since I have my meals down. Let's hope that this works.

Hello! I joined Spark a couple of weeks ago but haven't been very active and am looking to change that. I figured out how to sync the Fitbit with Spark so that's motivating. Also it's gorgeous out, which makes my dog happy, as I'm more likely to go for a serious walk then.
I hope everyone's having a fine day!

Hi! Iím Suzanne and I have had my Fitbit Blaze for 1.5 years. I reside in Saskatchewan, Canada. Unless you have snowshoes and enjoy disturbingly cold temperatures, walking outside in the winter isnít sensible, so I walk indoors. Iíve been a member of Spark since May/09 (took 2015 and most of 2016 off). I started back in earnest in the Winter of 2016 and am a Co-Leader of Team Saskatchewan. My daily interactions on the site have led me to join a few more teams, including this one.
I suffer from Degenerative Disc Disease and Fibromyalgia, so vigorous activity is out, but I keep moving. Even though it can exacerbate my pain, I walk around my office building during my noon hours and walk at home to a Leslie Sansone DVD in the evenings. All of my children are furryóSullivan (a red smooth dachshund) and Sophie (a blonde long-haired dachshund), with my babies, Steve and Sam (both red smooth doxies), together in Heaven watching over us. I love to scrapbook, knit, crochet, read, watch movies, and go to concerts.
With a recent pre-diabetic diagnosis, I am more focused than ever to get this weight off. Iím striving for 50 lbs lost by the end of this year. I continue to increase my Fitbit steps every month. Iím up to a 6000-step daily goal, but I finally hit over 10,000 one day in March (only the second time since getting my Fitbit). I hope there will be more of those days as the weight starts to come off.

Hi, my name is Holly, and I wear a Fitbit...

I can't remember how long I've been a member of this group, but this week probably marks the first time I've posted here. (Let's put it this way - through two or three Fitbit Ones and two Charge 2s.)

Now that I've deleted Facebook, I should have more time for SparkTeams. (I've never liked SparkPeople's forum software, but the communities are great. It's just hard to stay engaged on a regular basis.)

That's not really an intro, though, is it? I'm a wife, mother of two young adults, a writer (3 published children's books, 2 collections of short stories, contributor to poetry anthologies, former technical writer, blogger), and a data scientist. I've been a member of SparkPeople since about 2005 or 2006, I think. I'm a lot better at logging stuff, now, thanks to the integration of Fitbit into the tools here - something I remember urging and cajoling SparkGuy to do around the time I got my first one. Now, if only Virgin Pulse would integrate SparkPeople so I don't have to log food two places...

Hi. :)

Hello! My name is Beth and I actually joined this group back in September 2017, but am just now getting around to introducing myself. :)

I have a Fitbit Ionic currently, but have owned a Fitbit One and a Charge 2 HR since 2013. That same year I also started running and have completed several 5k's, 8k's and 12ks. Two weeks ago (March 4, 2018) I competed my first HALF MARATHON! I was so happy to be able to track my progress with my Ionic because of the built in GPS. I can't imagine not having a Fitbit now!

I joined this weeks challenge and am looking forward to staying motivated with this group!

Happy stepping! :)

Hello, My name is Regi and I love my Fitbit Alta. I have found it very motivational and it definitely helps me add more exercise into my days.

I am 52, and I have been married for almost 30 years to my best friend. We have two daughters 28 and 20, as well as an almost 11 yr old cairn terrier (who I adore). We currently live in North Carolina but are originally from Maine, USA.

I am hoping to make friends and find fitbit buddies.

Thank you.

I'm Brenda, I have a wonderful supportive husband and a terrific 9 year old son. I have used SP in the past and lost 25lbs, got pregnant and gained it all back, I have used WW lost 20 lbs, gained it all back. I have used only my Fitbit, lost 15 lbs, gained it all back...notice a trend. I do really well, the weight loss stops, I get discouraged and quit.

I'm back, I'm at my heaviest ever (even pregnant) I need to stop before I'm unable to move. Ideally, I would love to lose 100lbs, but at this point my first goal is 17 (I need to be under 200 lbs).

Looking for support.

Slow and steady

Okay, so maybe that lady is not exactly me, but I can only dream. I bet she has the Fitbit Blaze on her wrist. My name is Mary and I am a "senior" citizen. I love my Fitbit and I have the Charge 2. I also have Fitbit Coach and like the programs but they never ever change. I am getting so bored with the same old music and the same exercises over and over again. Okay, so much for complaining. I am glad to be here. I love, love to jog but as I am getting older it is getting real hard on my joints. So, now I walk and jog. I wish I was young, thin and had a Fitbit Blaze on my wrist. I can picture it now, me running down the street gliding like the wind with my ponytail bouncing and my legs are sleek and strong. My Fitbit Blaze is dancing on my wrist as I pound the pavement running hard and fast. (dream on...

I'm also recommitted to getting back to my training days and running. One step at a time, small, everyday accomplishments and a better healthier me. I look forward to getting back to where I was happy with my health.

Hello, Everybody! Well, here I am again. Every time I come in with great enthusiasm and somehow fizzle out due to "life" getting in the way. This time is truly different. I am now retired and I am now (more than ever before) keenly aware of the importance of health and fitness. Our boys are grown and married. I am proud to say they were raised to be "health nuts" who married accordingly. They are all professionals who are Fitbit enthusiasts. My husband is an avid hunter and our dog requires long walks. We've just purchased some hunting property, so my walks will be much more enjoyable than ever before! I am very excited about this upcoming year. This program offers multiple motivational resources, including the most important one (I believe) --- community. Therefore, with you by my side, I know we will succeed together! :)

Hi, I am Alda. Got my Fitbit Charge 2 about 3 weeks ago and recently linked it with Spark. Using it almost as my accountability partner. Love being able to monitor how much I work out and that heart rate. Really feel like getting the Fitbit is really what I needed and just could not be happier.

Hi. I'm Catherine, and a Fitbit user since 2012. I exclusively used Fitbit food tracking, but now with them scrapping the Premium plan, I'm going to lose my food analytics. I did a lot of Googling and Spark People seemed to have the best feedback for food logging and reports. I just started with the site today, using it, and not my Fitbit account to log my food intake. Boy, I have a lot of custom foods to re-create here, but it will be worth it.

Glad to meet you all!

Hi my name is Dorothy Stacy. I saw your welcome letter a couple of times but did not respond because it is hard to keep track of a lot of teams. I mainly joined when I became a FitBit user so that if I had any problems with the device, I could come here for help.

I live in Central New York State in a 200 year old farmhouse on four acres of land. I am a very young 77 years old. I walk almost 9K or 10K steps a day and am quite healthy. I have 8 grown children and 22 grandchildren that live nearby and visit me often. My husband of almost 50 years passed away 8 years ago. However I am active in our Historical Society (Vice-President) and have been on Spark People for 9 years. I am co-leader of a maintenance team and always trying to loose the last 10 stubborn lbs.

I am an author of middle grade historical fiction books-8 published so far. Besides writing, I like to dance the Polka, read, collect rosaries, garden (veggies, flowers, and roses.

That's the story of me. Oh and I go by Dottee with ee at the end instead of ie.

Hi! I am Tirzah. I am relatively new to Spark and to Fitbit. I am 65 and trying to accomplish now what I haven't in the past: to lose weight and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. To that end, I have started exercising regularly and watching my diet. I'm concentrating on eating more fresh foods prepared at home without adding artificial ingredients or additives. I recently planted a 4'x8' raised bed garden and look forward to the produce that will grow there. It is all organic and I'm proud of my efforts. I also planted smaller container gardens of herbs and strawberries that I can move to a shaded area as I live in Arizona in the low desert and it gets QUITE hot! I have found that I am enjoying the beauty of my gardens and basking in the pleasure of being outdoors more often.

Hi, Everyone! My apologies; I just saw my welcome email to the team.

My name is Carol and I've been with SparkPeople for quite a while but have been sporadic in using it for a while since I was attending Weight Watchers meetings..

I just got the Fitbit Alta (no HR) after my Garmen batteries died and I was unable to get the screws out of the tracker to replace them.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you, along with the ins and outs of the Fitbit Spark Team.

Hello, I have been using my fitbit for quite a while. I am new to the group and want to say Hello.

I just have a question-does anyone else have a battery problem with the zip-for the past month or two I keep having to change the battery every few days as it would let me know that once again the zip battery was low and needed changing.

I am new to this group. Just got a Fitbit and figured out how to set it up & link to SP which was a great achievement emoticon It's a basic one just to start out & I guess if I do okay I will upgrade at some point.

I am not sure how many steps I can do in a day but have set the goal low for now (2000) and will see how that goes. I am interested in seeing my sleep habits as well

I'm a new member and I have a Fitbit Blaze. I started out with a flex, but my husband bought me the Blaze over a year ago. I love it... but I rarely hit my daily goal. 10000 steps is beyond me right now, so my daily goal is currently 7500.

I'm Bat_Cat. I'm in my late 20's and trying to get back to my goal weight, 120. I'm about 11lbs away. But my main thing is once i reach it, learning how to maintain. Because sugar is my best friend
I love how the fitbit app also helps with tracking sleep, it has taught me how terrible my sleep is and how much i need to improve lol.

Hi there and greetings from Clarksville Arkansas. I've been Sparking for several years but only in the last two years have I gotten serious about fitness. I've used a chest strap heart rate monitor for a year or so but wanted something a little more comfortable. After some research I found a used Fitbit Blaze at a good price. I've used other, lesser priced wrist style heart rate monitors and fitness watches and I've gotten what I paid for, junk. Neither was worth anything as far as accurately tracking my heart rate. Both had smartphone software that took over the operation of my phone. They both took up so much of the phone's resources that I was having to reboot the phone on a regular basis. I've had no such issues with FitBit software. My Blaze has been an excellent purchase and it is nice to find this community. Thank you for reading!

Steve

Hi! I am Judy from the foothills of NC. I work as a procurement manager for a large healthcare system so mainly sit all day. I just recently got in to virtual racing and am enjoying it. I try for 10,000 steps and do make it most days.

I am ready to move my exercise level up and get healthy.

There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path. Donít be one of them.

Hi, I'm Febe and I just restarted on Spark recently. I also pulled my old Fitbit out of the draw, got her sync 'ed to Sparkpeople... Only to have a battery issue.

Picked up a new Fitbit and have it charging and syncing to Sparkpeople.

Problem: How do i remove my old Charge from Syncing to Spark?
I plan to hand my old Charge to someone to my husband to play around with.
He's not as serious as I am about health, not yet at least. He just wants to know how many steps he takes when he walks the dog.

So how do I remove an old fitbit from my spark fitness page?

Any clues?

TiA for your help!

Febe

Hi I'm Sandra and have a Zip. I like that I don't have to wear it on my wrist and is very small. I like to exercise every day - just need to keep the sweets under control!

Hello there, my name is Debbie. I have the Alta HR and love it. My son calls it my sitbit because sometimes I get too busy writing to walk. Deadlines always ruling my days. I want to change that. So, here I am. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi! My name is Claire and I have been on this team before with various Fitbits I have had. I decided to go for the Alta HR this time. Hopefully it won't give me fits like my Zip and One did. Looking forward to moving more and sleeping better!

Hello everyone!

I've been a member of SparkPeople for many years. Back in the early 2000's I used it to help me lose 70 lbs. I gained back a lot of it and have come back a couple of times, but this time I'm going to try to support myself to stick with it like I did the first time. I know it takes attention and some time. I also know I need to keep my head in the game.

Most of my re-gained weight has happened because I started my own business a few years ago, so all of my time and attention has been dedicated to the business. I'm about to start my 4th year, so I'm looking to incorporate more healthy habits.

One of these is to break up my work day by getting up and marching around the house. At least once an hour (and frequently every 30 minutes) I'll get up and march around the house for 5 minutes. For the 25 minutes in between I sit at my desk and work, and then for the five minutes of marching I check my email on my phone.

Fitbit tracks everything, and I'm able to easily get in my 10K steps/day.

Nice to meet you all!

"Once I stopped expecting to like it, once I stopped demanding that losing weight be easy or pleasant, once I stopped waiting for the band to start playing, paying attention to what went into my mouth became tolerable. Hi, my name is Anne. I got a FitBit Ionic for Christmas and I am enjoying using it so far. I have been on sparkpeople for a while, my goal is to lose weight and be healthier, to use the Fitbit to track my running, walking and biking and to encourage me to move more often, get more steps in per day. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I just checked back to see when I joined Fitbit Users Unite - it was 11/28/17 - when I first started using my Fitbit. I got all caught up in Holiday business and not taking time for myself. Another issue I have is I have a problem walking slowly so I know I can't just go walking in the neighborhood everyday. But I've made up my mind that I'm going to start wearing my fitbit and just see how many steps I actually take everyday. I do go to Curves and do water aerobics five days a week so that should. I tried going to the Mall to walk yesterday and I surprised myself and got over 4,000 steps in. It does remind me to move every hour - any steps I take or better than no steps at all. emoticon

Hey, y'all! I'm Kat in San Francisco! In 2009/2010, I was a runner, running half marathons and weighed about 120 pounds. All of that changed when I got a hip injury. I stopped exercising, and started stress/boredom eating and the pounds crept on until Thanksgiving of 2017 when I weighed myself and I was 241 pounds. Since then, I've overhauled my diet and got a new Fitbit. I've slowly been upping the number of steps by 500 each week, and this week I'm at 7,000 steps. Can't wait to reach my goals with y'all!

Hello All - I'm Heather. I've had my fitbit flex since October(?) I started out with a goal to get to 5,000 steps per day and I gradually got to the point where I can accomplish that on most days just taking walks on my work breaks. My husband and I got a treadmill for ourselves for Christmas and now we take turns walking on it most nights of the week. He has a fitbit HR.

Hello everyone. My name is Mayme. I have had a Fitbit for 2 years now but just recently upgraded to the new Fitbit charge 2. I love it. I love how it reminds you that you need to get up and move if you have sat for too long. This makes me more aware of the length of time I have been sitting. I am looking forward to more adventures with my Fitbit.

Hi, my name is Regi and I am new to this group. I have had a Fitbit Alta for a while now and when I remember to put it on its very handy. Since I rejoined Sparkpeople on 1/1/2018 I have been wearing it every day. I have made it to 10k steps two times now since then and am pretty happy with that. Usually, I am somewhere between 5-8 k steps for the day. My goal is 10K every day. Thank you!
