The only potential problem you might have by taking your base to work is that you will have to charge your FB at work! And, if you are like me you hate to remove it from your person during the day. The beauty of this device is that it will keep a running total of your activity for up to 7 days! I am away from home for over 12 hours a day but I can monitor my activity by checking my FB. When I arrive home my FB will sync and my data will show up on my FB web page! I can then view this data from any computer.
If you have any questions/comments please ask and one of our helpful members will provide you with a quick response.

Awesome! let me know how the set up went for synching. I'm hoping to get mine by Mon or Tues of next week. I was going to go trail running tomorrow, but we just got a snow storm temps are going to drop down to 14 degrees here. Looks like a pajama day tomorrow playing wii fit plus with the kids and indoor hula hooping :)

Hi I just got my fit bit today. Will start walking tomorrow. Very excited about it.glad there is a spark community though. Going to try to incorporate both without too much extra effort I hope. I just wish I could use my tablet instead of computer. Might have to take my base to work since that is where I'm on the computer more. Anyway, hope to make some new friends in the process.

How awesome are the new features? I really would like to purchase a new one but I will wait a few more months. The stair climbing feature intrigues me.
BTW, thank you for the kind words, I am so glad that you are part of the team!

Hi All!

I got my second Fitbit earlier this week. I lost my first one a little over a year ago and have missed it since. I virtually met Raul aka Rockman through Fitbit and he has made the experience that much more enjoyable. It is frosting on the cake that he is here on SP and that he runs a great team. I'm so glad to be part of it. I know feel I can honestly be counted as family since I have my gadget again. It is postively awesome that it contains new features. It's a plus for me all the way around.

Thanks for the welcome and offer to help! Fitbit just shipped today, I'm sure I'll be asking for help synching it. I'm not a techy person at all, so I apologize in advance. emoticon

@Cobbycat--I haven't joined the SP group yet, but will as soon as I get synched and ready to go. I'm so excited to get started.

better run....well, off to ST and chores--Sunday is running day

Hi!

I joined the team yesterday because I stumbled across it late last night and thought it was cool even though SP isn't one of the affiliates that Fitbit uploads data from. I joined one of the "other" sites a couple of weeks ago and some of my existing SP friends who are considering to purchase a Fitbit have joined me over there as well. I do love the camaraderie of SP since I've been here since July 2009.

I've lost 52 pounds over that time and regained 12 over the holidays. Now I've been stuck in a plateau since Dec 25, 2011. The scale may not have budged, but I've lost some inches from exercise. I've recently signed up for two 5k's (March 10, April 14) and am in training for those, so the Fitbit will be a great tool in addition to tracking my insomnia (I'm sure the root of the problem is my coffee habit).

My hubby wants to lose 20 pounds and is training with me. With the regained weight, I'm about 20 pounds from my goal weight, but the number really doesn't matter. I'd be happy if I was in a size 6/7. I'm 5'10 and already in a healthy BMI, I'm just continuing my journey to stay fit and healthy as I go into maintanene.

My page is on private and I won't be posting my name or user names publicly (message boards, etc) due to online privacy since I've recently had a situation. Feel free to send me a private message anytime, but I'm very hesitant about leaving comments on ppl's pages/blogs now.

Hope to see you all tracking progress and have some friendly competition.

ps, didn't intend to write a book here, but my avatar is a picture that I took of myself on the scale at my lowest weight Dec 07, 2011. I now weigh 162 pounds. The picture is a reminder that the scale doesn't matter as long as I stay moving, eat healthy, measuring tape, taking pictures and going by how my clothes fit. I was completely obsessed by that thing and by seeing the avator daily, it reminds me that there are other ways to track improvement. I used to weigh 145 pounds until health problems and a couple surgeries led to a lot of bed-rest and weight gain from 2008-2009.

Have a wonderful, productive day everyone....10,000 steps! emoticon
