Here is a possible resource for you.

I used to have a coworker (she moved out of state) who was fighting breast cancer for the second time, and had a grandson with ALL. And he had no medical insurance. Somehow they all got through it. The boy is doing well and growing like a weed. I understand he is cancer free. As far as I know she is in remission, too. So talk to the doctors, pick the best treatment possible and go forward from there. Some days will be hell to get thru and others will be easier. Just take it one day at a time - one hour if needed. And make time for you. You can not help them if you are worn out and depressed. The same goes for your daughter. She needs to take time for herself, too.

Good luck!

I'm an only child, too. I have an 80 year old dad with dementia? Just found out my grandson has A.L.L. leukemia. I don't understand either. I'm trying to be there for an exhausted daughter and she's trying to be there for a very sick little boy and he's only going to be much sicker before he gets better. I'll pray for you...I understand. I was in the middle of writing a book about a year ago, Only Child Aging Parents but too busy and hurts to deep and way too much confusion for now. I'll be praying. Have a good week, or at least the best week you can have. BTW: I'm Christine lol

Hi everyone. My name is Chrissie. I'm only one here once in a while, although I would like to try to be on here more.

My Mom was just diagnosed with Lung Cancer, stage 3a. She's never smoked in her entire life.????

Doctor said they couldn't operate just yet, so they started Chemo last week. She's so tired and sick and is thinking she made a mistake by deciding to fight it. She has 3 more treatments before they can see if it shrunk enough to operate.

Hasn't spread at all, about 8cm in size I guess, at the top of her right lung. I'm trying to be positive and help her fight but .... I'm an only child and have so much stress in my life now.

I think about the phrase.. "I know God wouldn't give me any more than I can handle", but with everything else, does he really think I can get her through this? emoticon

Has anyone heard about or tried the drug "Keytruda" yet?

Well, anyhow... that's my story right now. Nice to know there is a place I can come for support tho. Thank you ☺
