Yes it does. I'm truly new to all of this, in june my husband had a surgery to get one of his testicles removed we later found out it was cancerous and a fairly aggressive one. we found out it is traveling up to his lymph nodes. we go into tomorrow to find out how much and how long chemo will last. I hope one day there will be a cure and I hope it is sooner then later :(

All you can do is accept it for what it is and do what you can to help them through it. My husband had Burkitt Lymphoma and spent nearly three months in inpatient chemo. He had a 17 day regimen with chemo on probably half of those days, then a week out, then 18 days in, a week out, then 18 days in. It was tough to see him go through that and to see what the chemo did to him. He is now 2 1/2 years in remission and hopefully it will never come back. He is different now in subtle ways. That kind of experience changes everyone involved. All I could really do is take him food when he wanted it (the hospital food was too bland because he lost most of his taste buds), hold his hand, do back rubs, etc. And somehow we got thru it.

Tema,

Sorry to hear about your Aunt and Godmother. My husband's aunt is dealing with a reoccurrence of breast cancer. So far she is holding her own, but she is in her 70's and is getting tired. All you can do is be there for them, hold their hands when needed, offer a shoulder when needed, and if they need anything, like errands run, do what you can to help them out.

Just be there for them & help in any little way you can. you are right CANCER SUCKS. In 2002 my mom was diagnosed with Bladder cancer the tumor was the size of a grapefruit. They took it out along with part of the Bladder & one Kidney. It took awhile but she was finally clear from that & then in 2010ish she thought she hard dropped something on her left big toe & by the time it was finally checked out there was a Melanoma under the nail so the toe & some lymph nodes where removed. In November 20012 she lost part of her right lung. By March of last year the Melanomas had spread every where she had 100+ of them. Sadly she died last year on Mother's Day. I helped to take care of her through all of this I now I am working on helping myself.
