Cindy & Anna - I am sorry to be seeing this so late. I do not check this team often - it is usually so quiet here. I am so sorry to hear about your losses. Life can be so hard sometimes. Hugs and prayers to both of you!

Hi Anna. I'm so very sorry to hear that your husband lost his battle. My Tommy also lost his battle on July 19th after almost 4 years. It was so very sudden and completely unexpected at that time (a common cold that quickly turned to pneumonia and sepsis). I'm thankful for the amazing time we had together, but every day is still a struggle. Like you, I still expect to hear his voice or see him walk through the door at times. We just have to get through this by remembering the good times and in that way keep them alive in our hearts forever. If you ever need to vent or just need to express your feelings in writing to someone, feel free to message me. I understand.

On Friday, October 4 my husband lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. Today is 4 weeks, now that I'm no longer going to the hospital/hospice I keep waiting for him to come home. His battle has ended and the struggle and pain is over, I know that he is now in a much better place.

Hi Cindy Thank you for sharing. Your husbands journey sounds like my husbands right now he is in the process of going through the Gemzar chemo and then will start radiation. The chemo is very hard on him, most days he walks around the house with a basin and has lost 80 pounds so far. He had prostrate cancer a few years ago and is not looking forward to the radiation treatment. He remembers how tired he always was then and that this time it will be a much bigger area that they will have to radiate.
How do you get through the days? I worry about everything and I'm usually not a person that worries but just handles stuff. I fear what is next, how my son is handling everything he's just a kid that should be care free not watch his father always getting sick...

Sorry to hear about your husband's cancer. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis. My husband was diagnosed with stage IIB pancreatic cancer in September 2009. He had the Whipple and received chemo (Gemzar) for six months with six weeks of radiation in the middle. Then in March 2011 they found pancreatic cancer nodules in both of his lungs. He was put back on chemo (Folfirinox) and received these treatments for over a year. After a six month break from the chemo, he has just started back on the treatments. I'm telling you all this because I know the dismal prognosis for pancreatic cancer patients, but I also want you to know that there is always hope. Tommy (my husband) is in his fourth year since his diagnosis and still feeling pretty well; we even went for a short hike today.

I'm keeping your family in my prayers. I'm here if you ever just need to vent or have any questions.

Hello, my name is Anna. My husband was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer in September 2012. Since then he has had the Whipple and now is undergoing chemo. All this is very stressful for all of us. I have been working on taking weight of and dealing with my own health issues now the focus is on staying strong and supporting my husband as he goes through treatment and the side effects. We have a son, he is 14, on his first day starting 8 grade his father was admitted into the hospital. Needless to say life has changed for all of us.

I'm hoping to find a place to share my feelings, frustration and I really need support. I had lost over 60 lbs by September and have gained back 8. My biggest fear is to gain all of it back, as we all know it is not hard to gain but a real struggle to take it off.
