Hopefully your niece will come through the latest surgery and treatment for the tumor. My prayers are with you.

Dianne

HOPE is not pretending that there's never any sorrow - It's the knowledge that our troubles will be overcome tomorrow. It's the inner strength we call on to sustain us now and then, till our problems lie behind us and we are happy again

Hello! I just joined this group. My five year old niece Maddie was diagnosed in 2011 with Grade IV Glioblastoma Multiforme (brain cancer). She had her first surgery to remove a tumor on 12/5/2011 and went through radiation and chemo (which she will be on for the rest of her life.) Since then, every scan came back clear, until last week when another tumor was discovered. Strangely enough, she had surgery to remove her second tumor on 12/5/2012, exactly one year after her first surgery. It's especially hard because my son and her are only 6 months apart, and I know that someday we're all going to have to say goodbye to her. She is my biggest inspiration and definitely the toughest person I know!!!
