Thanks! I see we have a lot in common. My husband and I are house hunting right now so very involved with that process but I will send you a personal email soon. Take Care. emoticon

PS I have a degree in Medical Records but never worked in that field. I was also a single Mom with a young son. His Dad is Bi Polar and my son has Asperger's Syndrome but refuses to take meds, now that he's older and on his own.

Yes I am just trying to work on things now that I know need done because my mom also has panic attacks and such and I KNOW she will not be in any shape to deal with things and my brother is 24 and younger and he will probably not deal well. He is bipolar but things he "got over it" so he will not take medication for any of it and is having a hard time. I will have to try to be the strong one through this. I asked her about coming to get pictures to scan of the younger days and even though she asked me to do that she is so overwhelmed right now, which is okay for now I can use what I have. His family in Utah has sent me a few more recent ones but I am trying to get them from childhood as well so they are included. Long story but due to their religion and beliefs some of that family has never accepted me or my mom after 30 years. It is mostly the youngest brother who seems consumed with trying to get all the money when his dad passes and his other siblings are trying to contest it already. He is not in good health either and has cancer too and the mom passed away last year. The dad, grandpa, does not accept me at all. I tried to talk to him when they visited a few weeks ago and he just acted like I was nobody. I am not included as family even though my dad has made it clear I am his daughter. He raised me from age 8. My bio dad was not anyone you could ever count on. Anyway there is just a lot going on right now. Sorry for your mom! I saw you friended me so I will do the same...have a good day!

Hi, My Mom died last summer and I wrote her obituary. It was a challenge but well worth it. So many people liked it! I tried to share more than just the facts and to somehow catch her spirit and personality. Yes, let's friend one another. emoticon

Thank you so much! Sorry for your losses as well. I have lost many to cancer but this is the first family member this close to me. It is hard to be planning things for a funeral ahead of time. I was asked to write up something and to be in control of the slide show as that is something I enjoy. I a.m. working on it now so we do not have to worry about that when the time comes. I have written the eulogy already and I hope it sounds okay. I worry about my mom because she looks worn out from all the stress and running here and there and back and forth. Again thinks for the words...may I friend you. I am new on here and I am looking for people I can talk to about things and we can pull for each other in our goals and bad times. Thanks again!

emoticon emoticon emoticon I know how tough it is to lose a loved one to cancer. My Dad, my youngest sister, and my favorite Aunt died from cancer. My brother is battling urethra cancer and another sister battled uterine cancer and is now a survivor.

I wish you peace. emoticon

Hello

My stepdad, the man who is my "dad" in every real sense of the word and has been in my life for 30 years is currently losing his cancer battle. He is in a skilled nursing facility right now. The cancer started at renal cell carcinoma in 2002, metastasized to the lungs, which was removed. Now it is currently in his lungs all over, spleen, liver, brain, and bones. He has trouble breathing and they currently cannot find a vein to draw blood. He has had fluid removed from around the heart and out of the lungs but it still is in there lungs again as the cancer cells are causing it. My dad is only 53. He is probably going to be transferred out of town to the hospital so they can do a procedure that can draw the blood. He was always a strong man so he has made it through many things working 7 days a week up until April when things started getting worse. My mom has multiple chronic conditions but she sits by his side daily. The doctor at the skilled nursing facility we have turned in because he just acted like the blood work was not necessary and we should fold it up and go home. We know his time with us is limited but to be so uncaring is just ridiculous. His cancer doctor in Dallas (we are in North Texas) is trying to get someone to do the procedure and have him transferred there to the hospital. Yesterday we found out he now has C. diff colitis as well. It is so hard. I a.m. 37 and my brother just turned 24. He left today for his vacation to Vegas and was afraid to leave. So I pray that nothing happens at least until he gets back from his trip. I have not been sleeping well and am consumed with this in my thoughts.
