emoticon emoticon Glad you've joined us! It is understandable that you are feeling apprehensive. I have a similar family history. My Dad died at the age of 58 from pancreatic cancer. My youngest sister died at the age of 48 from uterine cancer. Another sister survived uterine cancer. My brother is dealing with urethra cancer. A favorite Aunt died from breast cancer. I think the best thing you can do to take care of yourself is eat healthy foods and exercise. So, you've come to the right place! emoticon

Today is my first day checking out the sparkpeople website. It's quite impressive. Unfortunately I am not unfamiliar with cancer. My father passed away at 46 to lung cancer. My mother passed away at 79 to lymphoma. My sister is a breast cancer survivor. My other sister is battling throat cancer. The doctors tried radiation and it didn't seem to work, so chemo will be starting next week. I don't want to sound selfish but with all the cancer that has been running through my family it's starting to take it's toll on me. I just feel like there is impending doom waiting for me. I try to stay positive but it's increasingly hard to do. I was hoping to look for some support from this team. Thank you.
