Hi everyone. My husband was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer two years ago. So far he is doing well and he is asymptomatic. (no symptoms). I pray that this continues and that he does not get too much pain

I'm sorry Kathy that both you and your husband have to go through something so difficult. I know that this doesn't really do much to heal your pain, but you will be in my prayers and that does have the power to change things. Never ever lose your faith no matter what the doctors say.

I lost my mom to lung cancer in June of last year and know exactly what you are going through. She was only 51. I am still devastated in more ways than I allow myself to even admit. My only advice to you is to love him, be there for him, and savor every minute with him. Don't miss an opportunity to tell him you love him and that he is a light in your world. So many times I have wished that I could re-live a certain day or re-do certain things. Make your "now" count even when the chemos, the doctor visits, the hospitalizations make your "now" difficult. I treasure the afternoons when my mom was still strong enough after chemos that we could go out to lunch or shopping.

I'm here if you ever need to talk.

Hi Kathy,

I am so sorry that you and your beloved husband are having to go through this experience.

My only advice to you is stay positive which I know is a daunting task at this time.

At the time my beloved was fighting this disease there was someone else who had exactly the same as Lance had but he survived. I cannot remember his mail address but to cut a long story short he is well and no sign of cancer. (He had been sent home to sort out his affairs after the doctors decided there was nothing more they could do.)

His started in colon, spread to liver, lungs and bones and his positive attitude was got him through.

Keep your husband's spirits up please.

I will be praying for you.

God Bless You.

Hello. My name is Kathy, and we live in California. My husband, my best friend for life, was recently diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. Our life is anything but normal these days, with all the Drs. appointments, chemo days, surgery to have the port installed, and the side effects he is having.
I am so glad this team is here and available to all who are experiencing this awful disease.
Rich was diagnosed in October, after having gone thru all those scans, biopsy, etc., and started chemo the week of Thanksgiving. His rounds are 3 consecuative days once every 4 weeks, so the next one will be the 3 days before Christmas.
Even tho he was diagnosed early, the cancer had already spread to the liver as well as the bones.
In reading some of the other blogs on here, I know that I am not alone with what I am feeling or how my husband is acting these days.
Right now we are in the process of dealing with the hair loss phase. My poor dear hubby is so sad these days, but not opening up to me to talk about much. And me, I'm spending a lot of time looking up as much information about this illness as I can.
His overall prognosis isn't that great. If we are lucky, a few more years. I can't describe how sad I am, but I know that all of you who have or are going thru what I am, understand and know the feelings.
