Hello Stacy and emoticon to our team. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Cancer has invaded our home twice attacking my dear husband. He's kicking its booty still. Peace Esther (Healthybear24).

I love meeting new people but always sorry when it has to be on this particular forum. I lost my mother in 1987 to cancer and still miss her terribly all these years later. I was the only daughter of 3 and we lived together until she passed away and I know many look down on that but I could care less because we did what was right for us and I wouldn't trade my time with her for anything in this world. She was my best friend and the one person who supported me through all my health problems (I had polio as a child and now have PPS, fibro, arthritis, etc) What is sad, though, is I lost my older brother in 2007. Mom was 63 when she died and Denny was only 61 (he had heart problems because of no exercise, poor diet, high stress).

I know this is a difficult journey for all of you but am glad to hear you are learning to follow a healthier way of life and glad one brother will be close by to help. You have alot on your plate right now but eating and exercising and taking care of yourself is the best gift you can give to yourself and your child/children as you set a good example for them and other lives you touch.

I'll keep all of you in my prayers and hope you will update us when you can. Give your mom a hug for me.

God bless you

emoticon for you, too :)

Hello, I'm Stacey and my mom was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in October of last year. She's truly my best friend, and this has been a long hard fight, although it's only 6 months long and not over (hopefully, not soon either)!

To top it all off, I have one brother in town, but the other one is in the Air Force and deploying on Monday for Africa...

And did I mention I'm a single mom? And a full-time teacher?

No stress here! (or not) emoticon

I've been with SP for 3 months (today!) and LOVE it! Secretly, one of my goals is to be at a healthy weight before my mom passes on. I want her to see me healthy - which I haven't been in a long time. I haven't told anyone that because honestly, it sounds like doom and gloom, but lung cancer is not nice, and currently, they tell her she won't ever be cancer-free.

So as I go through this journey as her only daughter, I thought that I should start connecting up with others who are affected by cancer - those who understand a similar journey.

Hope to hear from you,

- Stacey - GO TEAM!

Next Stage:
1. Lose 10 MORE lbs.
2. Do SOME activity (cardio/weights) 6 days/wk.
3. Track my food - even the bad choices.
4. Strength training at least 2 days a week.
