Hello there, my name is Melanie but you can call me Mel. I stared this journey a while back and was sucessful in losing abotu 60 pounds. Well with a move from Nacogdoches back down to the Southeast Texas area and the stress of finding a job I managed to gain 20 pounds of it back and have been stuck for quite sometime at the same weight.

I have recently gotten back to logging all my food and keeping it on track. (love SP mobile for Blackberry-makes it so much easier and no excuses for not tracking). It seems everytime I start a workout routine something happens or I get sick, I am trying to build up my immune system right now...any sugguestions would be great. LOL!!

I need to lose about 120 pounds. (was approx 160) That's a whole nother person. WOW, I carry my weight well but that is the only part of me I am not happy with and it's time to do something again. I am tired of being on this plateau. I know I can do this. We all can!!

I am very easy going and love to meet new people. Very seldom do I not have a smile on my face. I look forward to getting to know each of you and having support and help on this weight loss journey.

Thanks
Mel

Hello My name is Stephanie I am in deep east texas Hemphill to be exact. Yes, a very small town and Im sure most people have never heard of it. I am a 39 year old mom of 3 dogs. I dont have any children and I am divorced 3 years now. I have quite a bit of weight to lose and I believe this is just the place to do it. I am sharing this experience with my best friend we are in it together. About 6 mos ago I wasnt feeling well and was unable to eat anything which is unusual for me I was 5'3 and 200 lbs. I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, I have always battled depression and high blood pressure at least 10 years now. On my own i have lost 30 lbs and im on a journey to get healthy, feel better about myself, and look great!! Im divorced not dead!!! woohoo

Hello everyone, I live in the Austin area and joined Spark and this group to see what others are doing to be successful at being healthy. I have a new gym just a few minutes from home and I have worked out there since they opened (three days now). I use to be on a different site but my regular chat forum dissolved (I guess that's what you'd call it.) All but one or two people stopped posting. Kinda lonely so I came to spark to see what it is all about. I won't track my food here (have an iphone app that's great at that) but I will enjoy getting to know some of the people here and chiming in from time to time.
I lost almost 20 pounds last year between October and the first of the first of the year. I'm still at that weight and thought I'd work at losing another 20 or so.
I live with my boyfriend and he needs to lose some and get in better shape so we are doing the gym together and play tennis and hike, bike ride etc together already. We eat healthy at home and seldom eat out. Maybe two or three times a month. I have 4 four legged kids, three cats and a dog that entertain me when I'm in the yard playing in the garden. I love photography and do a little on the side to earn pocket change. I can share my website if you're interested in seeing my vacation photos or events. We love to travel and I have had the opportunity to go one some nice trips. Lost the weight last hear for my trip to europe and my get to go again this next year so more motivation to keep losing the weight.
I tend to be long winded so I had better give someone else a chance to introduce themselves.
Erin

Best of look to you. Take it slow and steady, just build a pace that you can keep up with, then continue to challenge YOURSELF! Remember to change it up once in awhile and make it fun. :) I liked your little info blog! I met my husband online also, and married him just 4months later...what a wild ride! I'll be watching your progress and encouraging you now and then.
Have a great week! emoticon

Hey everyone! My names Casey, I'm 25 and I'm a stay at home mom of 1 sweet baby boy. I am also a business owner/photographer and a scentsy consultant so I stay pretty busy. I'm petite but very wide and since having my son my waist and hips have grown to uncomfortable measurements. The last time I was this big was when I was overweight when I was 12yrs old. I have never felt comfortable in my skin even though I modeled before pregnancy. My goal is to not look at the numbers on the scale, but to feel good and get fit and healthy. I need all the support I can get to start and be active. As most mommy's understand...after a day with the baby, work, errands, cleaning...its hard to use that last bit of energy to go run and workout. Any stories and words of encouragement are greatly appreciated. Look forward to getting to know everyone :D

Hi, my name is Stacey. Today is my first day on SP. I hope I can learn to navigate it rather guickly. I am 42 yrs old and live just outside of San Antonio. If you live in SA feel free to message me. Maybe we could meet someday. I have a 19yr old son who now lives in Illinois. In Nov of 2005 I met my husband on eHarmony. We married 5 months later. We have a 3 1/2 yr old daughter and I inheritated 2 step daughters who live in Ohio. One is 21, the other is 22.

I used to be a competitive swimmer with workouts twice a day M-F and once on Saturdays. Even then I had trouble maintaining my weight. I have multiple health issues ...fibromyalgia, herniated discs in neck and low back, Diabetes type 2, etc... I go to bed tired and wake up tired. I need MUCHO motivation!

Yesterday I had the chance to meet Ali Vincent, the season 5 winner of The Biggest Loser. She was so inspiring. I wish I could carry her around in my pocket and pull her out whenever I feel uninspired. I told her that I had thought of trying out for the show, but she said that I would not qualify because I am not big enough. I feel both happy and sad about that...strange. Anyway, best of luck to everyone. Drop me a line!

P.S. My goal is to lose 65-75 pounds

Be blessed,

Stacey

Hello all. I am a 36 yr old mom of 2. I am currently trying to lose at least 40lbs. I lost 90lbs about a year and ago and then had some really stressful things happen and gained 30lbs!! Ahh, makes me want to rip my hair out. :) Anywho, I really want to lose these last 40lbs so I can try for a 3rd baby and be healthy and fit for that pregnancy. I also have hypothyroidism. I'm in North Texas. :))

Hi, my name is Holly (aka SkinnyMom383). I am a full time mom, student, employee, and wife. My husband is not working right now so I am the one bringing in the money and a lot of the stress from this falls onto me. I am planning to finish up my classes this December so things will get a little easier. I feel like STRESS is my middle name and I am definitely someone who eats around my emotions.

Hi there and welcome!! You can find stress busting tips here on the website. Put on your dance cds and dance away that stress, or run til you feeel de-stressed!! Im sure college has its own kind of stress. You will have to find the right thing for you. A long soak in the tub or watching a fav movie, or even writing it down in a journal. Good luck to you!!

Hello. I'm a 21 year old college student who likes to dance and run. I love doing anything outdoors and I'm usually pretty busy. I can't stand staying in my house all day. I'm looking forward to sharing success stories and encouraging other members. My toughest challenge is to stop emotional eating. Does anyone have any suggestions for busting stress?

I didn't find a place to chat so am posting the following here. If someone knows where the chat is please let me know. I saw May and June but that was a long time ago.

Hi All. This has been a busy day.
Got home from church and visiting with a couple of ladies, one the mother of a friend and who needed prayer,
Ate after leaving their house came home about 3:00 and took about a 3 hour nap. Had not done my points of course.
I'm glad I spun a 25 on the wheel. I still need to finish my points.
I am also answering all of my spark mail but don't think I will be able to read all of the posts or will do it tomorrow.
Too much time spent on here.
So forgive me and pray for this 80 year young lady.
:)
God bless all of you.
I appreciate those who read the devotions for dieters and also appreciate those who don't.
Also I appreciate all of those who send me Spark Mail and comment on my posts.
I guess this is Spark appreciation day.
Irene

Hey ya'll. I'm new to the website (about 5 days now) and so far I love it. I really like how easy it is to keep track of what you eat. Like so many others, this is not my first rodeo, so I'm hoping something different will help me out. I've already made one friend who is helping me stay accountable.

Hi All,

I am new to this site and really excited about my new goal of getting healthy. My goals are to eat better and exercise at least 3 times a week on the Eliptical. I start Boot Camp next week. Twice a week, 45 minutes each for 6 weeks of crunches, pushups, running, and other exercises.

I will hopefully get a sparkpage started this weekend!

Hi y'all! I thought I'd introduce myself as well...
I'm a new mama to a beautiful 4 month old baby girl, married 4 years to a man I've known for 10. I've been kinda on & off SP since I joined in 2006 (I think), and have struggled with losing weight. In the last few years my weight climbed into the 160s and after gaining 28 lbs during my pregnancy, I'm still carrying most of that as well. Ugh. Hoping to melt of about 60 lbs, including this baby weight!

Hello all! I'm so glad to be here! I'm a former WW gal and really liked the program. I can already tell I'm going to like this site. I was really pleased with the way you may set up your progress and how you track your weight, through calories and such. I just joined yesterday but I'm trying to make a lifestyle and habit changes. With two young children and some pre-hypertension issues, I've got to get control of my life.

I'm 37 and work for a university. As mentioned, last year I lost 30 lbs on WW and have gained about 10 back in a little under a year's time. I have a daughter that is nine and a two-year old son that keeps me busy. You'd think I wouldn't have time to eat but I do. I'm usually eating their leftovers before I even sit down for my own meal.
Thanks for the warm welcomes and let's LOSE SOME WEIGHT!!!!

Thank you! Right now...it's looks bad. They are going to have to totally gut the kitchen and bathroom. The couches are trashed and their recliner. I have no clue how the wood furniture will fair after drying out. I've had furniture before that's gotten wet and gets moldy and some doesn't. Time will tell. Thank you for the prayers.

I'm taking it easy today. I had really hoped to be back on the treadmill yesterday. emoticon I was in such a groove....I just have to get back into as soon as my body give me the go-ahead!!

Yes - like lowering into a pool!!! That's how I do a lot of things...

Sorry I've been out of pocket...Under the weather and still not 100%. Then Sunday my parents were flooded out of their home. Literally - the emergency crew rode up their front door with a boat and said, "are you leaving with us or not." they were allowed 1 bad and they could take the two little dogs, but not their cat. They went back for him yesterday. The water was down. My 5 yr old and I made it across our walking bridge (a story in itself - we use it when we're flooded in as we only have one access to our homestead.). I went to my parents...It was really sad...

I'm here anytime usually. I'm trying to get more involved so that I can be held accountable. I did not do treadmill yesterday or today. Still feeling not quite well. I don't want to push it...

Have a super week everyone!

Hi Pam. I know what you are talking about. I joined SP in December 2009 and haven't really used it much. I feel kind of like getting into the pool. First you stick your toe in and then slowly lower the rest of you in....lol. Hopefully, I can get better at this. I would like to have some accountability as well. I guess we can start right here with each other. Nice to meet you. emoticon

When you are on your sparkpage and hit the edit button, I belive you scroll down to get the cute little lbs lost thing. As for the recipe calculator, it on the sparkrecipes page. I think you can also get to it from your nutrition tracker.

Hi Melody!! What are you having problems with?? There is so much info on this site you will learn something new every day. It will be easier to help you if we know what you are having trouble with. The nutrition tracker is very important to use. it takes awhile to get the hang of, but gets easier with time. Let us know what you need!!

I need to lose weight but I really want to get healthy so I can be there for him as he grows. I have only began to learn to use this site, my nutrition and my fitness. I appreciate any advice that could help me learn how to use this site.
