emoticon , my advice is to spend time on our Start Page which will walk you through setting goals, etc. and overview all of the tools and resources on the site. There are a lot of great articles and videos that will help you get going.

Overwhelming-that just about sums it up nicely, but the beauty of it is that we don't have to do it alone.
Instead of a "diet" think about a way of eating that is sustainable. So that you don't feel that you have to jump into the deep end, start small and one small way is to track your foods for a week without changing anything. Then look at what your are doing and look at what you should be doing then make small changes so that what you are doing is what you ought to be doing. If that makes any sense at all.

As for exercise, again start small and listen to your body it is the best guide as to how you are doing. emoticon

I have not failed if I truly tried. Therefore what I did yesterday is history, but what I do today will change all my tomorrows.

Hi everyone thanks for the great welcome. I was not sure what to expect. I am a 50 yr old female and just diagnosed with some heart problems. I joined spark to try to make some lasting changes to my health. I am open to any help I can get. It tends to be very overwhelming when you start looking at diets and exercise programs. Look forward to hearing from everyone with their tips and help. Thanks
