Hey, anyone who can quit smoking can learn to manage their weight. I watch various parent types deal with the addiction to smoking. Good Luck!

emoticon Debbie! Congrats on quitting smoking and staying away from them for 5 years - that's great! I know what you mean about finding the strength to exercise. It's still something I struggle with on a daily basis, but if you start small you'll make it. Try 10 minutes a day - stretching, talk a short walk, do some lunges or crunches while watching tv. You can do it!

Plant seeds of expectation in your mind; cultivate thoughts that anticipate achievement. Believe in yourself as being capable of overcoming all obstacles and weaknesses.

My name is Debbie and I only discovered this wonderful site several days ago. Since that time, I have told everyone I know about it! I am 54 years old, menopausal, quit smoking 5 years ago, have asthma now, and work in an emergency room that beats any energy out of me. I need help. Serious help. I have never been so overweight in my life. In fact, until my mid-forties, I didn't have any real problem with my weight. Any encouragement and help that y'all can give me will help me a) actually get started and b) find the strength to somehow exercise!
Looking forward to hearing from y'all!
Debbie
