I'm new to SP, but not new to yo-yo dieting. I'm in my upper 30s, and my mother started me on diets in elementary school--not because I was overweight, but so she wouldn't have to cook double meals. By 8th grade I was overweight, and after my twins were born in 2005 I hit the 'obese' category. I still have 15 lbs of baby fat almost 5 years later. :(

I'm a computer geek by day, and I work from home too, so I live an almost comatose lifestyle.

At this point I'm battling sleep interruptions (due to little people and pee breaks), stress, and a very jaded attitude. My DH pointed me at this site after he read about it on one of the technogeek blogs he reads. I've used several different software tools in the past for tracking calories and activity, but this website has the most extensive resources I've seen.

I am at this point a little afraid to hope it will work, a lot afraid of what will happen if I can't muster some activity soon, and afraid I'll give up again. I'm rather introverted, so the idea of a support group is a stretch for me. But I need some accountability, I think, and maybe some sympathetic support. Contact with other human beings would be good too. :)

Anyway, here's hoping we all get what we want from our experiences here.

Was at 175 in September 2009.

171 when I joined SP in October 2009.

Did mostly nothing in 2011..

Now my insurance is going to make me pay more if I can't get down to 'normal' range.
