Hi! I am gluten free and was just told by my doctor this past tue. that he wants me to go dairy free for about 3 weeks to see how that affects a health condition that I have, he is thinking that I have a dairy intolerance that is triggering some health problems. I have yet to start the dairy free diet, I have to gain some courage first. I agree that gluten free has been easier then I thought but I cook mostly everything from scratch too!

I also am gluten and dairy has been interesting these last 3 weeks. I love to cook form scratch so that helps. I also make turkey meat balls and gr turkey with organic salsa and or chicken breasts up ahead of time so all i have to do is weigh out my 2-3 oz and I'm all ready to go! I am eating every 2-3 hours and a lot of proteins. a typical day is egg and egg white omelet with cut up veggies, protein shake for am and afternoon snack (whey as i can't do soy with my thyroid meds) lunch is a big salad with protein usually chicken or turkey and then supper I get to add my starch usually potato or br rice with protein and veggies or another salad. I just use balsamic on my salad. i do not follow the spark menu but add my own and alot of member already have the info does take a lot of effort to get going, but well worth it and you will feel so much better. hang in there you'll be a pro soon. let me know if i can help in any way!

Are you referring to finding things on the web site, or in the store?

If you need a primer on what to eat. Go to and eliminate dairy also.

If you don't cook things from scratch, you will do best to learn how. Meat and veggies are generally safe. It's condiments and grains you have to be careful with.

You can add things yourself to the menu on Sparkpeople, if you don't see what you want on the calorie counter.
