HI Everyone

New members, old members, in between members, my this team has grown while I've been away.

Many of you will be wondering who on earth I am, quite rightly so as I have been rather preoccupied and haven't spent much time on this forum for probably around a year and a bit. I'm Lyndsay and I started this group many moons ago after realising that hypothyroidism and PCOS seemed to be close friends of many ladies.

I am based in Scotland (UK) and have been busy studying towards a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and cell biology with a dash of psychology with an aim to go on to study towards a postgraduate in Dietetics. It was Sparkpeople that set me on this path to self improvement and now that I have finished the last of my undergraduate exams I intend to return and become a more active member of the boards armed with knowledge and research skills which will help me to answer many questions more competently than I could previously.

To quickly fill you in a little on the ins and outs of me as a patient, I have PCOS, Hypothyroidism, Chronic Back Problems (crumbling lower disc), M.E, IBS and many food intolerance's. As a result I have had issues controlling my weight on and off for years (in fact in the last ten months I have lost three stone/42 pounds between january and may due to being ill and having to have a small op' on my billiary system and then regained the whole lot while revising for my exams). So when it comes to the trials and tribulations of weight control I have had my fair share of ups and downs just like most of the lovely ladies on this forum.

After a wee break this week (my last exam was on the 18th of october), I plan on getting back on track next'll have to be a slow one as I am incredibly out of shape at the moment but after three months of sitting with my head in the books any move will be a move in the right direction. I intend to be on SP alot more from now on and would love to hear more from some of the ladies who have joined the team in my absence. A HUGE emoticon thank you to those who have nurtured the team and kept it going and I hope to be about more to help out now x

Speak to you all soon, be well.

Today, this hour, this minute is the day, the hour, the minute for each of us to sense the fact that life is good, with all of its trials and troubles, and perhaps more interesting because of them."
