Hi! I am new as of today. My biggest problem is finding time to go grocery shopping. I am a full time student and I work full time. When I don't have time to shop, I pick up the healthiest things I can find along the way at gas stations and fast food places, yuck! And then I tend to just nibble all day because it's not satisfying what my body really wants. I hope this team can help!

Welcome to all new team members. This will be a great challenge for us all!

For those who are snackers, pack healthy snacks for yourselves. Cut up veggies & take them in a baggie, bring fruits along or healthy protein or fiber bars. That keeps me going. I also won't buy anything unhealthy anymore. If it's not here, I can't eat it!

Hello everyone, I am new to this team. I am hoping this will help me with my eating habits. I tend to snack a lot, which is probably my biggest problem. Also I definitely need to eat more fruits and veggies. I already use the journal on spark people and the nutrition tracker, but I am going to start using the fruit/veggie tracker more!

Hi, I'm new to the team today, will definitely start working to the goal as of tomorrow as the night is almost done and no journaling done today. Stocking up on the fruits and veggies, and I have a little journal always nearby.

Could you pack your own healthy snack so you're not tempted to buy things at the gas stations. How about packing animal crackers, raisins, celery sticks, carrot sticks, grapes, etc. You could even put a lunch box or small cooler in your car. And - do you fill up a large to-go cup (reusable to go green and cheaper than buying throw-aways) of water? Makes it easier to pass on soda or other calorie-laden drinks.

Hello, I'm new to the team. Mindless eating is one of my biggest problems. I eat all the time not because I am hungry just because it is available and I like to eat. I also have a two hour commute to my college for nursing school, so that is 4 hours in the car each day. I have picked up the bad habit of stopping at gas stations to grab a snack. Not because I'm hungry just because I'm bored and I have been sitting so long. I have gained 20 pounds since January and I'm scared to death of packing on even more weight. So glad I found this team.

I'm new to this team but not to Spark People. I'm starting this month at 152 pounds and plan to lose 5 pounds by the 1st of Nov. I can reach this goal if I think before I eat! No more mindless eating.

it takes practice to ignore those food ads but it can be done for sure and i can sit right through them now but then again as a diabetic i have three small meals a day and then 3 snacks and i feel like i am eating all the time so they don't bother me much HOWEVER you have to oplan and have healthy stuff around for sure the lady mary

Hi All,

I'm new to the team and just wanted to say hello. I saw this team on a friends sparkpage and decided to take a look. I was excited to see my one of my biggest issues addressed. In my house everyone sits on the couch and watches TV while eating dinner instead of sitting at the table. It's something that bugs me because while watching the commercials I want more food and it's difficult to say no to myself. I look foward to working along side of all of you to reach my goals and break these bad habits.
