Hi, welcome to the team.

Jeff Galloway has an excellent book, "Running: Getting Started" that includes instructions/plans to gradually introduce small amounts of running into your walks in a structured way that gradually increases the amount of running and reduces the amount of walking. Very gradually, so that you and your body adjust to it.

Since the Galloway method never totally eliminates walking, you can stop increasing the amount of running at any time and stick to a run/walk ratio that is comfortable for you.

You might check your public library. Lots of them carry Jeff's books. You can also check out his web site.

I've been walking about 6 miles most days. I am a fit 65 year old who wants to incorporate running in my routine. How does this work?
