I haven't run for the past 6 days, waiting for my ankle to feel OK - I think today is the day :D
I am very fortunate to have beautiful places to run close to where I live.

Still on a 30min 20run/40walk level - but I'm happy with that!

I think my next book will be the run until you're 100yrs old one :D

A long time ago, I visited the UK and the coast was always breathtaking. I can only imagine running and embracing that view!

thanks MIRAGE - this morning I did a really lovely run - along the beautiful coastal path - so rough, varied terrain. I'm on 20run/40walk this week. My left ankle's a bit cranky, so I'll have to see how that goes ........ otherwise, I'm looking forward to my next 'long run'

When you start to enjoy your run, then fun factor kicks in on the run! I started "Pose running' after an injury last year, discovered speed and ran with less injury. All the best, RAWCOOKIE!

I'm so enjoying the walk/run system - I've just done my first 3 mile - only doing 15 secs run/45 secs walk - took me 53 mins. What I love is that it's all ENJOYABLE - no struggling :D I've already planned next week's runs.

Oh, that's interesting MIMISASS - thanks for sharing that. I've been out for two 'runs' so far and am loving it. I've been noticing other 'runners' puffing and panting and pumping their arms and am so glad I've discovered a happier way to keep running!

I'm also trying to combine both Chi Running with the Galloway method. I find that while Chi Running is kind to my aging joints and bones, even the 1" angle of lean makes me run too fast for my present level of endurance. Using the metronome to maintain my cadence is also difficult to maintain. Galloway's walk/run intervals make Chi Running form doable for me.
Happy run/walking!

Thank you so much for the welcome messages.
My first Jeff Galloway book arrived this morning - I decided on the Personal Training Journal. Now I just have to wait for payday to buy myself some decent footwear. I am going to have a read and get to know my way around.
I already walk a great deal, but am not 'organised' about it!
I'll start looking for a 5k race to sign up to.

I'd never heard of Jeff Galloway (true!) until I saw the team on someone else's page - click, click, click - and thought it looked very interesting.

I did the C25K 2 years ago - and did one 5K charity race which went brilliantly - then......... I stopped! Don't ask me why!

I've just been over to Amazon and bought one of the books (the one with the Year Journal) - and when I get paid at the end of July I am going to buy myself some decent shoes (I've got my sights set on Vibram barefoot trainers).

I joined the Chi Running/Walking team a while back, and have been practising those techniques - and it looks like Jeff Galloway uses pretty similar techniques.

I am looking forward to getting up and going again!
