It looks achievable! I just have to cut down my social activities so I'll have more time and energy for running. I have my eye on the prize though!

I can't review either of the HM training plans I bought yet because I haven't started them yet. I'm trying to work up to running 10K comfortably once a week. Then I'll start the training program, probably a mix of both plans.

Thanks for the clarification! It's been a while since I read it, and while I remember that he took a 'take it slow' approach to building up the runs, I didn't remember some of the other stuff I'd seen on here. Most of my books are in boxes right now, but I was planning on digging it out this weekend to review it.

I'm also considering ordering one of his newer books &/or the no meat athlete program.

It is my understanding (although not 100% sure) that Jeff's Book on Running does not have many of his newer ideas in it. His marathon and HM books do incorporate what he currently is advocating.

Just a thought.....

Parking garage ramps work for hills as well!
My grandfather's family was from Goteborg. Maybe some day I'll see it. The course actually looks interesting. You can do those hills!

Magnolia - What do you think of the No Meat Athlete training program vs the Jeff Galloway HM for Women book? Do they compliment each other well?

I have Galloway's Book on Running and was thinking of getting the No Meat Full Marathon program. What is your experience so far?

Oh good! I don't have access to a treadmill but I might join a gym for the winter.

I ordered the Jeff Galloway HM for women book and a HM training plan from the No Meat Athlete.

Sounds like a beautiful HM....

I do "hills" on a treadmill as I live in a fairly flat world. They work.

The HM I'm thinking of is the GöteborgsVarvet in Gothenburg, Sweden in May. But I found a map that shows the inclines. There are 2 pretty intense hills!

This event sounds really awesome plus my boyfriend is Swedish and his Dad's proudly from Gothenburg! I adore his Dad and he's always reminding me I should visit Gothenburg on one of my trips to Sweden but I've been staying around Stockholm so far. Still looking around for other HMs but I'm attracted to this one.

I guess I should try those inclines on a treadmill and see how insane they are! I was already thinking I'll have to walk part, I guess those inclines would make me need to walk more. The view sounds gorgeous though!

I started reading everything I could online. I found a plan and just started working it. Point blank, I say select a Half, make it your goal, & then realize it! I'd select a Half in March or April 2014. Go for it!

Hello! I can run 5K without too much trouble and I've run 10K a few times. I'd like to run a half marathon next year or the year after. Which Jeff Galloway book would you recommend for me?

I started to run with the Couch to 5K program and a Learn to Run clinic at the Running Room. I do 5-1 or 4-1 run-walk intervals. I've never been athletic until I took up running a year ago so I don't have endurance strength built up like some might.
