Good going!

P90X...I was going to make the $$$$ investment to buy that program, thank goodness my daughter, a physical therapist intervened!! she told me about a former memeber of Horton's business group who left and created his own version of P90x. She said its the same workout,BUT it costs under $30 for the whole thing. Its called Super90. I checked out the website. She was correct. Only difference is instead of Horton's Kenpo, this guy uses another martial arts form. Go for it!

Howdy GW, well said as well :D
I can't wait till I release enough weight to give P90X a shot, it looks brutal *chuckles*

GW is right we HAVE to want change in order to bring it about. Now thats easier said than done for some of us, myself included. I want change because my weight is literally killing me, yet my desire for pizza and other sh*t is stronger than my desire to release the weight.

So when that happens we have to take whatever steps we can to get to the place where were can work on this.

Motivation is nothing more than not wanting to do something yet finding a way to get it done anyways, that's it. simple. NOT easy, but simple. I'm a big dude and exercise is very tough for me. I can swim so i bust my a$$ in the pool 5-6 days a week for at least and hour. I don't always want to go and do it, however if i wish to be healthy and get back to enjoying my life I have to do things that are work and not always pleasant. I am going to be miserable either way, I might as well suffer and have it work towards something rather than sit here feeling sorry for myself in misery. I think you are on the right path, recognizing there is an issue and seeking help goes A LONG way in finding solutions :) Keep trying and don't quit, as long as we never quit we will always reach our goals. We just have to be willing to go to any lengths to achieve them and be willing to stick it out no matter how long it takes :)

Well said Greg! Did I hear P90X, Great program, 90 Day commitment but is it great. I have been through it 3 times, do it every winter with my base training. As for staying motivated, you have to want it, and know you will do it, remember your goals and make it a priority.

I will trade you for my fat man blues ;)

Well nothing happens overnight, i am not a fitness expert but i know that much for sure.

Maybe get a personal trainer? They cost money of course but perhaps they can guide you on the path you want.

I see that P90X commercial on tv ALL the time, I don't know if something like that would help you build muscle or not. I know it looks like ALOT of work and my fat a$$ isn't in anywhere near good enough shape to even attempt it.

no matter what you do its going to take time, we must put in the work if we wish to get the reward. There are no shot cuts to any place worth going. keep your chin up you will get where you want to be, you might just have to work harder than others :)

Something that I have struggled with has been having skinny arms and legs. I tried bulking up and changing my nutrition. The result was a gut and very little muscle to show for it. I went to the gym, got a fitness assessment and a workout plan, but the workouts are all on machines and cardio. No weights! I love weight training and hate to give it up. Plus this is a 12 WEEK program! GAWD. That's like forever it seems. Any ideas on how to stick with this? Any clues on how to deal with my skinny boy blues?
