rock on DEEEMEN I like your style brother. Thats pretty much what I think, trying new things till we find something that works for us individually. Ya those drinks can really add up in a hurry. My best friend and I added up all the calories she was getting from beer and we even low balled it and it was like 30 pounds a year, she was shocked *chuckles*

I have to stay away from pizza i love it WAYYYY too much. That whole 2 slice thing is a good idea, but even still it usually racks up about 600 calories for 2 slices give or take. My best option is splitting a small with someone or buying it by the slice at a market, if i get a whole large bad sh*t happens. I haven't done that in a while so I am grateful for it

Keep hitting it brother you will get to where you want to be as long as you don't give up, I guarantee it :)

Ditto on you get back what you put in. I am still fairly new here and am using the nutrition monitor to give myself a reality check on what I am really putting intop my body. I still have some weight to lose but am at a healthy weight and work out regularly. My monitoring is slowly showing me what is causing my wieight loss plateau (not enough protein, too many carbs, empty booze calories). I am now thinking about what I am going to put into my body every work day and it is slowly spilling over into my evenings and weekends. For the first time last night when having pizza with friends, I limited myself to 2 slices because I had looked up what it would cost me. A big deal for me. I have made no real change in my alcohol intake but it is starting to wear me down, logging 2-4 drinks a day. Not drunk but a heck of a waste of calories.

What I'm driving at is this...try things...it will change how you think and perhaps will change what you do.

Welcome aboard. I hope that you benefit from these pages.

I guess that part of the charm of the SparkPeople concept is that what happens is entirely up to you. I've focused a lot on these pages to help me monitor my own situation. I appreciate hearing about others' experiences. I feel like I'm doing OK. All of that is pretty valuable, pretty helpful, and keeps me coming back.

So let me wish you well, and encourage you to share your experience with us, no matter how you see it. I'm sure others will find your contributions valuable.

Well you can decide what you wish to do on here :) Its all good. This site is like anything else in life you will get out of it what you put into it. For a long time I didn't really interact with that many people I just liked to run my face. I started caring about what other people were going through and responded to threads, gave goodies, sent emails. To me it was small things but other people really appreciated it.

Its a form of service and its part of what i do to help me say on track. What you do or don't do is totally up to you its all good, whatever works best for you :) You may find that getting more involved in the overall site and really use it helps you, or maybe not. You will figure it out as you progress in your journey. Welcome and I hope you find what you are looking for here

hi and welcome, I think you need to get pump up and get excited. It helps keep up the motivation and people think something is wrong with you when you are happy working out.

I am really not sure what to expect from this site. I mean, sure I expect to track my food, and have an online blog. That's a given. However, the online community aspect of this is what I am really not sure of. Perhaps I will become and active member, or maybe, I will simply ignore it. I guess only time can tell.

I am 29 and will be 20 by the end of the year. I will be moving to Charlotte within 30 days. I am gay, I have two teenage girls, Alexis and Kt. They will be going to college this year, and I miss them. I am also a student. I have returned to school to finish my bachelors.
