You're right about better health having a positive impact on the rest of your life. Even when it doesn't, being in better shape both mentally and physically makes it easier to deal with tho other crap, even if it doesn't go so well. Good luck and welcome to the team!

I've been using the spark system for a little over a month. I see that most of the tips in the weight loss community are aimed at women, so its nice to see that this group exists. I've already gotten some great support from a couple of guys on the site.

I started out 5'9 - 238 - size 40 pants. Troubles in my marriage (no intimacy - wife is not attracted to me; among other things); a new job after being downsized (and a 30% pay cut); and being out of shape. I believe that if I can get my body right - then then my mind; marriage and money will fall into place.

I'm currently on week 5 of the couch-to-5K running program; which is going well. And I just started to add a "workout" routine on M-W-F. I know that I've made some poor food choices and I'm working to remedy them. As far as exercise goes - I'm embarrassed about my lack of overall strength. I have to really start from the basics. I started with squats and lunges and really felt them in my knees - so I switched up to more upper body and core exercises to augment my running. I'd love for someone to take a look at my current strength workout to provide some feedback. Any comments on my diet would also be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to learning more through this site and eventually helping others along the way.

thanks
