Life will keep throwing crap at you, but being in better physical condition makes it so much easier to bear. Once you get past the pain and mental trauma of making yourself exercise, it actually starts to be addictive. Working out can make you feel better both physically and mentally. Controlling your food intake is the same way. The more you do it and see that you really won't die without three thousand calories a day, you start to feel good about meeting goals and you start to feel better physically as well. The key is to start and slowly accumulate a set of good habits that will serve you well for the rest of your life. Now that you're on your way, you only have one etched in stone rule to remember.. never, ever quit. Welcome to the team!

Welcome Ryan to the team and getting active. Dealing with depression may help you find that the rest are easy once it is under control. I look forward to your posts and progress.

4 Noble Truths

1. Suffering is a part of life
2. Suffering is caused by our attachments and avoidances.
3. Suffering can be ended.
4. Freedom from suffering is possible by following the Eightfold path.

Bigotry disguised as morality is still bigotry just as an outhouse with
marble columns is still an outhouse.
