Losing inches it even better than losing weight, but the rest will come in time. If you have lost inches, you are doing great. Eating Clean and Lifting Weights is the best way to achieve both.

Welcome to the team, working with support is much easier, it helps to have someone cheering you on! One of the best ways you can get your weight under control is just what you are doing. Make sure you incorporate strength training so you are building muscle, that will help build your metabolism back up. Muscle burns more calories! Use the nutrition articles here on Spark People to help you learn more about what to eat, but really add fruits and veggies, skip fast food, try to eat healthy fats as much as possible and keep your calories in a good range for your target weight. Using the Nutrition tracker really helps with calorie counting. Another area we all suffer is portion control, our portions are totally out of control usually. Learning the right amount to eat is as important as what to eat. I don't have any bad foods, I just try to eat a balanced, healthy diet with lots of fruits and veggies, smaller amounts of meat and very limited sweets. When I do that I can lose weight and maintain a healthy weight. I also found that a good weight for my 60 yo body was actually a bit more than I weighed as a 16 yo!

Well now, I always had a high metabolism and stayed thin so never thought about working out, I also never thought about thin did not really mean healthy either. I did not get sick or anything but since I was not really working out I was not really healthy. All of a sudden I have found myself post menopausal and fat. I have always been active but this having to exercise every day to lose all this weight is more than I know what to do with. So since January I have been trying to workout every day at least 20 minutes intentionally 6 days a week. I have so much to learn about nutrition and its sometimes hard to stay motivated alone. I do not go to a gym as I have plenty of dvd's and equipment at home and I have no fitness buddies either so here I am looking for motivational support to keep going and get ideas on what to eat and how to be the best me I can be. I know I will never have a super model figure but I also know I can at least have great tone and physical fitness for my age. I need to lose 50 lbs and am struggling with that. I have lost inches but no lbs and its frustrating to me. Looking forward to meeting all of you through this journey.
