Great Idea! On Sunday I made snack baggies of cut up raw veggies to just grab during the week. I will have to do that with nuts and I really like the apple and peanut butter idea too. Thank you!

Hi Patricia, welcome to the team! I feel your pain, I work on a computer all day (thank god not at home) and have the spread to show it! I would snack all day too! I work in a school and it is not so good here, lots of sweets around. I have been working on my snacking, it is a very bad habit of mine. One thing that I have found helpful is drinking liquids. I drink water which helps but also I have a variety of teas at home, and add fruit to my water sometimes. I got one of those soda machines, I fizz up the water and add lemon or lime to it. Sometimes I put berries in it. That seems to satisfy my sweet tooth just a bit.

Welcome. I'm retired, but I spend a lot of time at my computer. I read a tip online somewhere to use a kitchen timer and set for 1 hour. When the timer goes off, get up and move around.

I have one rule for the room where DH & I have our computers - no food or drink other than water in a sealed container. When I was still working, I had my share of food and liquid spills on my keyboard. Then, my company had to fix it, but now, I'm responsible for the costs. So, that's a good motivator.

If I want a snack, I have to get up, go to the kitchen, prepare the snack and eat it there, before going back to my computer. Besides, it keeps me from having to clean up crumbs and spills in that room, saving me time as well.

Patricia it is a matter of mastering the art of making plans and sticking with them. If you snack a lot make them healthy snacks. Fresh fruit, nuts, veggies. I personally purchase walnuts, almonds etc in bulk and then package them in snack size packages. I keep pre sliced apples and peanut butter for a quick snack

Keep on track

My name is Patricia, I am 52 years old and live in Illinois. I want to finally lose some weight and get more fit in 2016. The biggest trouble I have is I work on a computer job at home and have a very bad habit of snacking all day, especially when having a more stressful day with work. Another downfall is the length of time I sit in a day and am trying to get more motivated to take breaks and move around more, especially before and after work hours. I am hoping this program will keep me motivated to stay on track.
