Hello and welcome!!

I know what you are talking about. I just made a permanent lifestyle change myself, after years of eating mostly junk food. I figured I'd better start taking care of this body NOW! I found tracking foods here at Spark VERY helpful, because you can add all types of nutrients to track, to ensure you are getting enough on a daily basis. I found out it wasn't really all that difficult, after I purged my kitchen of all the wrong foods and replaced them with good foods. lol!

A body in motion, stays in motion.
A body at rest, stays at rest.

Welcome Syl! I think you will find this group helpful, since we are all dealing with issues common to 50+ women, including roller coaster weight gains and losses. It's nice to be able to post "my knees hurt today!" and know that most of the people reading it have had similar pains at one time or another.

Hi - welcome to SP. You have come to the right place. SP has all the tools that you need, from the motivational articles, and the many various articles on nutrition and fitness, to and Nutrition Tracker. I suggest that you weigh all of your food for increased accuracy, and enter it all into the Nutrition Tracker. Then you will be able to see where you need to tweak and make changes.

I suggest that you make these changes using the Baby Steps method. This means just changing one or two things to start with and allowing your mind/body to get used to those changes, before adding something else to the mix. It might be something as simple as decreasing soda/juice but increasing water. Or it might be less cake or sweets, and replace them with fruit. In time all these little steps will add up and you will benefit from them.

Good luck,
Kris

Hi everyone
I've been on a weight loss all my life with big and small loses. I need all the tools available to make a permanent change. I envision a life where I am healthy, strong and full of energy. I know that if I keep doing what I've done, my life will be short lived. So I'm getting up once again and see if I can finally find that life that I've envisioned.
