Thank you for the support! Today should be day 103, so I'm almost one third of the way there! :)
Keeping weight off has always been a challenge for me since I was a kid. I started smoking cigarettes when I was 13 because someone told me I'd lose weight. Grrrrr....I lost my baby fat, but
then I as I got older and had kids I put weight on and continued to smoke. I always wanted a quick fix...a pill or a "miracle diet plan" to take the weight off. It wasn't until I started moving and quit smoking that I started reaping the benefits. Today I know that there are no miracles...that in order to be healthy I have to make changes like eating right and exercising to maintain! I wish it didn't take me so long to figure it out. I have COPD, but it isn't interfering with my exercise so far...anyway, this is a long winded way to say thank you!!! I really appreciate any and all support.

Happy new year, MCKATENH!

"If you do it, results will come." -- You've been doing it, and you say you see changes in your clothes. That's great! And more important than the scale!

You sound very consistent, determined, and pretty confident, so just hang in there!

Words of encouragement is a blessing to all of us. This is a new journey for us and to some it is a repeat. But thanks for being there and responding to our needs. 2 pounds a month is great, my problem is that I would like to see 2 pounds a day emoticon . Thank you for being my encouragement today emoticon , as I stated before this is my second attempt at losing with the help of spark people and I feel more committed and motivated this time. Reading these messages will help me reach my goal emoticon .

Yes as you get older the weight is harder to come off. I am happy with 2 pounds a month as that is easy to maintain

Keep on track

Congratulations! It does take time for the scale to show loss, often we need to learn to depend on other signs, like your clothes. Hang in there and just keep working at it, we are here for you!

I have heard that muscle weighs more than fat so its not always the scale that we are concerned about. The fact that you see a difference in your clothing proves that you are doing something right. Keep up the good work. I think maybe you should also log in your foods for a while just to see if that makes a difference. emoticon

I've been working out every single day (minimum of 20 minutes) since October 15th. I've seen a change in my clothing, but no change in the scale until this week. I finally lost two pounds! I'm eating right, drinking water and doing my best to get enough rest.
Even though I'm gaining muscle and toning up, I have been getting a little frustrated at not seeing any difference on the scale. The Spark Solution mentions weight loss for people my age, stating that we can expect one or two pounds per month...so I guess I just need to be patient.
I haven't been tracking my food because I'm really pretty good about it what I eat. If I don't see the results I want I might start tracking food in addition to my fitness. Thanks for being here!!
