Welcome to the 50+ Females team! I think one of the first things we have to do is stop thinking of this as a "diet" and instead embrace a lifestyle change that will not end. Learning to eat the way we should all the time and to add exercise to our lives is the goal here. Focus on small changes, taking baby steps makes the whole thing manageable. This was my year to get off the stick and get going. I applaud your realization and welcome you to the community. If motovation is what you are looking for you have come to the right place. I have followed Sparkpeople's recipes for a while and have half heartedly tried to loose weight thru the Sparkpeople's website before. Now I have come to the realization that something must be done or I will have major issues in the future. I am 55 and looking for a LOT of motivation. I have been on so many diets in my life and every time I lost weight I would gain it back plus some. I am addicted to sugar. I am one of those people that can't stop eating once I start on something. Thanks for listening.
