Welcome back ! Coming back is a first great step in your journey to success. It can be more difficult to lose weight when we get older - but! - we also have had more experience. We tend to accentuate the bad habits that have made us gain but we also have developed some good habits. It' a good idea to identify the good habits and accentuate them - make them part of your new experience. For instance, someone once told me that when I'm going to be out during the day to bring a good snack so that I won't be tempted to go for the donuts or muffins when the afternoon energy dip hits. This has helped me on many occasions. Good luck !

Welcome back Grace. Yes it becomes harder to lose when you get older as your body changes. You can do this by taking little steps Set small goals and work toward them. Each small victory is a win and will get you where you want to be, Start with short walks, maybe only 10 minutes of exercise and work from there. It has worked for me.

Keep on track

Hi Grace, welcome back. I can totally understand getting off track, when I was a caregiver for my mom I was pretty much out of control. Getting that control back is a challenge but I am determined. We can all help each other!

emoticon Welcome back! Sometimes I have to start over 15 times a day, in one way or another. I catch myself using negative self-talk, putting off working out, grabbing that extra mini muffin. Sometimes I catch myself after the fact and resolve to do better... again. Sometimes I catch myself in the act, and remind myself why I'm on this journey. All the things that make me want to do this for myself. But the important thing is that I'm catching myself more often than not. And I'm not beating myself up over my mistakes. I just resolve to do better and move on with my life. And you can, too. No matter if it's been five minutes, two days, or ten months. You can do it. And you're worth it. Hugs!

hey Gracie, I know what you mean about food being comfort I also do that even when I'm bored I eat. I ran into a funk just last week exercised once that week and didn't eat right so I decided that I needed to get back on track I've only started back today but I'm going to stick with it this time I have to for my life. I use a cpap to breath at night and I'm tired of having to depend on that to make sure I wake up of a morning. I want to be able to climb stairs without hurting and I want to eat but not worry if I'm gonna over indulge. So you just give me a holler if you feel you need someone to vent to or get encouragement from anyone on this group can give you what you need. emoticon emoticon Its a daily journey and we can only do it one day at a time.

1Corinthians 6:19-20
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20-For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your Spirit, which are God's.

Hello everyone! My name is Grace. I've been away from SP pretty much all this year and have been completely off the wagon...BIG TIME....and I need to somehow get back on before I completely spiral out of control. I love food...plain and simple and of course when I'm down and stressed out, my only comfort seems to be food. I've also completely lost all interest in working out and I need to gain that interest back....I just turned 50 in June and know that at this age, it is really a lot harder to lose weight...so I hope that I can come back to this team everyday and that you all will give me the encouragement that I need...and please if you happen to notice that I haven't been around, feel free to send me a message! Looking forward to getting to know and chat with everyone!
