Hi BLUEBERRYPI! Nice to meet you and Welcome Aboard! I, too, line our wastebaskets at home and the office with the grocery plastic bags. I store Christmas ornaments and several other items wrapped in the plastic bags. I carry 2 or 3 in my car at all times for one of my duties of picking up trash on the apartment building grounds. I also carry one with me on my daily walks to pick up trash on the route. If you should ever run out of uses for them...there are recycle bins at Walmart and some grocery stores.
Thanks for the tips and have a great evening.

The stores keep threatening to discontinue the plastic bags. I will one upset person if that happens, since I can find LOTS of uses for them!

Hi everybody, from your quiet, introverted leader. You don't buy that, well anyway. I have used plastic grocery bags for years, for packing breakables. Also, they work for xmas ornaments.

If you want them to be leak-proof, knot the bottom of the bag.--PJ

I'm Blueberrypi and I want to say a hearty hello to one and all. I am catching up with my group mail and post, but the journey continues of course!! Thanks again for all of your kind words and support, I hope this post finds everyone just Sparky!! (smile)

One of the ways I've saved money for years is using the plastic grocery and shopping bags(I know there is a green alternative, the cloth tote)that I get from shopping is to line my trash cans in the house, to store shoes sometimes when packing, if I'm taking less than new sneakers along. I also take extra along for soiled laundry that I have to repack on return. All I have to do when arriving home is toss them in the washer, and dispose of the bag, it is possible to use it in the trash cans also. Because of environmental issues, I try to use them until they can't be recycled in my home again. They come in really useful for friends or relatives who will not return a tote bag to you when you are sharing something with them. You don't have to worry about them not returning the used plastic bag. I also like to use them when I'm peeling vegetables or need to throw away food that's old. I like to double bag them to keep them sealed and then place them in the garbage or thrash can. Well this is just a couple of ideas hope they are useful to you.

Blueberrypi emoticon
