Hi JO-ANIMATION, welcome back. I am sort of new to Spark People. I just found this team today and decided to join. There is not much I understand about menopause, even tho I have been post menopausal for 13 years (I underwent surgical menopause at the age of 29). Hot flashes, I know. Skin changes, premature graying hair, unexplained weight gains, all of that I know all too well - and now at 43, slight osteoporosis. YEAH ME!!! I feel your frustration. Depression, anxiety/panic attacks which hit right before my total hyster, no energy or motivation for anything, hiding myself away from the world because I no longer recognize myself.... I wish I had some ideas to share with you, but I'm still trying to figure this out myself. That is why I am trying this team - I am hoping to find someone else who has undergone surgical menopause at such a young age and what they have gone through and how they got through it. Good luck to you!!

HI. It's been a long time since I have been on spark. I use to have a team, but it fizzled out. That was a few years ago. I'm not sure what picture is going to pop up, but since then (actually between Jan and March of 2013) I gained 30 pounds. YIKES! I already thought I was too big at 180!...In Jan my tom stopped and the hot flashes were crazy. I am also on a lot of meds. I recently went to the dr. and explained my concerns, and he changed my blood pressure med, I lost over 10 pounds in less than 1 week. I thought it was the betablocker. I ran out of the betablocker after vacation, had an appt with the doctor 7 days after vacation and weighed in at 200, so the 13 pounds came off after the vacation during the time I ran out of that one med. (I was good on vacation too. I ate a healthy breakfast and only went out for dinner 3 times, watching what I ate too. I used their gym and walked a lot site seeing. When I came back I thought I surely lost. I gained 3 pounds!) At the gym at work out world, I would run for an hour on the treadmill ( I rarely got my heart rate over 120), then do weight training with a personal trainer for half an hour, then do a class, whatever was going on after I weight trained. I ate right. Even my husband couldn;t understand. I should have weighed 80 pounds he thought the way i exercised and ate. I even did the injections of HCG. I had tried everything out there. jenny, weightwatchers, you name it. I was beyond desperate. I didn't want to go out. During vacation (Mexico) I wouldn't go in the pool or water because of how I looked in a bathing suit. See before 2006, I weighed 135 at the most all of my adult life. NO ONE had seen me ever bigger. Then the weight started, 10 pounds a year, about. My mom and grandmother even said, " How did you get so fat?" Great for the ego. Then I just stayed in bed most of the time, so depressed, I didn't feel like the same happy go lucky gil and now besides hardly getting no sleep from the flashes, I just have no energy, no motivation. And since 2006 till present, I was dxed with major depression and anxiety, no surprise there. I'm hoping this doctor has helped, and I continue to lose. I have never stopped exercising, but I do go back to bed almost immediately after. I have some health issues, most I always had. The menopause of course is new and I was diagnosed with fibro, which I take 2 meds for, they barely work. I am not on steroids, and I'm not a candidate anyway. Well that was a long introduction. I'm glad to be back! And I am glad to have found a team that can relate. My life has been a MESS, maybe I am seeing some light now.
