I tried Valerian root long time ago. I did not like it, teas do not work for me either.

I appreciate your post, but I would rather be bleary eyed than ever take an OTC drug. I've heard so many horrible things about Ambien's side effects that it is not worth it to me. I have taken ionic magnesium every day for at least 6 years now. Melatonin hasn't helped much or when it does, I get every weird dream on the planet and wake up dopey and furry-tongued. I have been taking L-Theanine before bed, which has helped somewhat, but not as much as it could. Valerian Root smells like dirty gym socks, so I've left that alone as well. Yay for Chamomile tea. I may wind up trying Melatonin at a fairly low dose again and see if it works without the bizarre dreams.

I have not used it in awhile but Ambien is starting to not work for me, I am thinking of going back on Melatonin. Have you tried it?
I believe magnesium works for sleepliness also but I am not sure I know it calms you but sleepiness I am not sure of.
I am not sleeping as well since I stopped walking once the weather got rotten here in northern NY and I have not been doing my yoga or pilates since right after Thanksgiving. I hurt my back trying a new DVD I wanted a healing break but I have not gotten back to it yet.

Hello, I would rather be going through PMS than the hell that is sleep deprivation. I had planned on a nice walk during lunch today and got such a lousy night's sleep last night that I am too beat today. Tomorrow we've got nice weather predicted here so I'm going to pray to the Goddess of Sleep that I get at least 9 hours so I can get at least 12,000 steps in.

I am getting ready to start taking a new type of calcium at night to see if that helps with the tossing and turning.

Anyway, nice to be here.

Signed,

Grumpily Sleep Deprived
