Hi and welcome..! Yes it is possiable.. but it takes a lot of hard work.. i did treadmill.. my fav.. walking and running.. really got my heart rate up.. and of course eating less and healtheir.. so can be done.. dont give up..

Lost 110 pounds so far! i am loving it!
I am now exercising 50 mins a day working up to 60 ! Keeping active is so important!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 51 and am just starting menopause (I think). I haven't skipped a period yet, but they are getting irregular. Over the past 6 months my moods have been getting gloomier and gloomier. To the point that I talked to my doctor about it. We decided to give a low dose birth control pill a try. 25 years ago, I was on the pill for 5 years until I couldn't tolerate it any longer. It was causing depression. But the doses were much higher back then. It's only been about 2 weeks, so it's still too early to tell if it's helping or not.

I've always been such an active person. My weight (125-130) is on the upper end of still being acceptable for my age and height. Even though I've been a member of spark people for 2-3 years, my weight has not changed. I suppose that can be considered a good thing, but over the past year I'm noticing more and more body fat. Ugh!

I know that if I would just stop the snacking, eat more sensibly and get more exercise, I'd be much happier with myself and my image. But now I've got hormones working against me. Someone please tell me it is still possible to be in control of my weight and my body. I honestly don't mind aging, but I do mind losing my energy, muscle and especially gaining this body fat. emoticon
