Thanks for the info about the Novasure procedure. I went to their website and downloaded their brochure - I'll take it with me to the doctor.

I AM really tired - it would be nice to have some energy again.

I guess i am confused. If you're menstruating for 3 weeks out of each month, then I would think something is definitely wrong. At least that is what the Drs. around here say. I would ask for a 2nd opinion. You have got to be tired-literally. I am 52 and they Drs. around here tell me id i go longer that 20 days, which I don't to get in ASAP. To me what you are experiencing doesn't sound right. Good luck.

You may want to look into the Novasure procedure. It removes the lining of you uterus so periods are done. A few friends of mine have had it done and didn't have a problem and their periods stopped.

Hi - all. I just found this team. I hope this is not too much info but I am looking for advise.
I will be 50 this summer.

Right now, I am enjoying 3 weeks of "my friend" a month. This is actually an improvement but cripes I'm ready for this to be over with.
My doc prescribed Meridia IUD 2 years ago - which is what finally brought me down to 3 weeks - with a lot less cramps. I wonder if I need a supplemental hormone or something?
Is this normal? When I asked my doctor, she said that she wished I would stop this. Well - me too. I wonder if it would be better to have a hysterectomy? She may be reluctant because of my weight.

I'm told I am in pre-menopause and that losing weight would help. Well - another reason to get back on plan...
